Re: LLC and Wales Questions

I cycled llc north to south a few years ago whilst the royal welsh was on. Couldn't get anywhere to sleep until I was almost in brecon. Felt like Joseph and Mary. No room anywhere. There's always wild camping?

Re: Touring Wales

Fly into Cardiff, cycle north on llc to Holyhead, then head back via coastal route. I found the coastal route more difficult due to the sheer amount of ups and downs. The llc route will prepare your legs. If you get to Fishguard and find you don't have enough time to complete route 4, then there are p...

Make your own utensils. Plenty of time in the evenings whilst you're relaxing.

I did it no problem on a tourer. Right about the climbs, but that goes for pretty much all of Wales :)

Re: winter camping on tour

I cycled up the Brecon Beacons for an overnighter in the snow a few weeks ago. I used my new wild country aspect 1 that I bought directly from terra nova website for £60 posted. It performed admirably in the wind overnight. The inside was frozen in the morning :D . I used a mountain equipment helium...

Are the hubs any good though? In comparison to Schmidt ones? Don't know if I can justify an extra £90 for one.

Thanks meic, that's a cracking bargain. Just what I'm after. Think I'll order the wheel tonight. Desperate to be self sufficient with lights/charging when I'm out and about.

Mavic XM317disc + Shimano DH-3D72

I've seen one of these Dynohub wheels for a good price, Mavic XM317disc + Shimano DH-3D72. Is the hub any good? Its also a centrelock disc hub,I'm running 6 bolt disc wheels at the moment, obviously I'll need to get a relevant disc but will I need anything else? Adapter, lockring etc?
