Re: N Plus X: how many cycles do you own? Vote now please

Nice subject.
I have a hard tail MTB, a single gear road cycle and small frame shopper/townbike.
The single gear is used 70% of the time and the MTB 30%. The shopper is currently stored in a bag but is often swapped with the single gear.

Pfizer vaccination

Hi all. I've never refused a vaccination in my life and wasn't looking to start now, however, I don't recall ever seeing a government rush to absolve a manufacturer of any responsibility for their product before it even hits the pharmacies. I think there are a few on here with NHS connections so my ...

Re: They snub my greeting - Is it just me?

Roadies have been like that forever. They used to have a name for sociable non-roadie clones, I think that it was 'Nodders'.

Found it. Second definition down. Didn't know the reason behind it until today though.

Distorting the news. The first article made worrying reading in light of the quoted source being a 5 eyes intel document. I searched for a similar report in the Guardian, BBC or Independent but found nothing from those sources until this morning. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8279859/Bom...

Re: Distorting the news

As a co-owner of our NHS and of our BBC Shared many a night in A and E drinking coffee with the Police, and this reminds me so much of the story of the pompous middle aged rep caught doing over 60 in a 30 mph zone. The guy had replied with the usual "I pay your wages" claim. One of their ...

Re: Is the UK government an incompentent bunch of liars?

However, you can take a horse to water, but you cannot make them think, or in this case, you can educate someone, but if they are a zealous acolyte that does not wish to see beyond their closed fantasy, the chances of them learning is minimal[/quote] I don't disagree at all, but your statement kind ...

Re: Distorting the news

The thing that I like most about the BBC is that it is sometimes accused of bias by left AND right wing supporters. Not something that I've come across too often with The Guardian or The Express etc.

Re: Is the UK government an incompentent bunch of liars?

I can't see Trump being withdrawn from office, but if he runs again for president and succeeds it'll illustrate just how loopy the US electorate are. I'd not be inclined to cast the first stone at the USA on the part of the UK electorate. Recent events lead me to suspect that, were he elegible, Trum...

Re: What should the UK govt do about Branson & Virgin Atlantic?

Hopefully the UK government will look at the company and assess its value to the UK economy in terms of financial contribution, of UK citizens employed and also suppliers. Anyone made jobless as a result will likely need support from public funds although that's easier said than obtained. If the cos...

Re: What will we look back on from the COVID crisis: Positive, Amusing, Frustrating

Positive Definitely the family video calls. Having to be disciplined in order to avoid just laying about all day. Achieving 30 to 60 minutes daily exercise without leaving the flat has forced an element of creativity. I've started reading 'Moby Dick' for the first time. I really, really appreciate t...

Re: Is the UK government an incompentent bunch of liars?

I triangulate all news I don't like which appears in the Guardian by reasoning that the paper is anti-EU, anti-Conservative and anti-wealth creation while simultaneously expecting people to pay lots of taxes for their readers' wages. I know the Guardian is wrong about everything with the same certa...

Re: Should the UK ( World ) seek compensation from China for the damage it's citizens have done?

To answer the original post, I don't see how China could be held responsible by other countries when the responsibility for protecting each country's population rests with it's own government. Spain, for example, identified that the infection began here in Valencia after it was brought back from a f...
