Re: Enigma Bikes
I think I rushed to judgement on Enigma - they have redeemed themselves in spades after my impatience

Enigma Bikes
Just spent £2,000 on a new bike from Enigma. Lovely bike - put on all the equipment requested although expensive - £150 to put it together - BUT after sales service - you might as well forget it.

Re-using a worn cassette
When you install a new chain it will slip on a the teeth of a worn gear wheel. Has anyone tried filing the teeth on a used gear wheel to restore the profile and use it again?. Although teeth on a gear wheel are claimed to be hardened it is possible to file a worn wheel and it would also be possible to change the shape on a grinder. If it is possible is it worth doing?.

New cycle path from Bexhill to Hastings
This new route constructed recently by Rother District Council with the aid of Sustrans opened recently. I had the chance to try it out today - what a mistake. The first half of the route has a loose gravel surface with the gravel several inches deep in places - back wheel spinning I ground to a halt. It must also be potentially dangerous. No child could ride it successfully. The second half - nearer Hastings is better ?? the surface is bare earth supported by a metal mesh. At least it is possible to ride it but I am not going to try it when it is wet. What a waste of an opportunity. Has anyone else experienced it ??

Tunbridge Wells - showers
Just a long shot - but does anyone know of a venue in T Wells where I can get a shower in the morning?. I would love to be able to ride to work but I really need to be able to shower before starting work. The shop where I work is a very old building and it is impossible to install any showering facilities. The Council are no help at all; the only facilities in the town are private gyms that want to charge me a fortune.
