Search for good looking casual cycling garment

Hi all, I commute by bike (arond 10km per day) and bicycle is part of my life (I am a bike traveller, bike commuter, randoneur, ecc). Sometimes, I need to arrive at the office in good conditions and I have to be good looking, but I want to make clear the bicycle is so important to me. So, I am consi...

Re: Bike trip in Greenland

There are some commercial companies who do tours Fatbike Greenland is simply an example that link made me think to Greenland as a possibile destination for a bike trip but that solution is really too pricey. Do be aware that these are really remote, unforgiving places so solo or unsupported tours a...

I hope you like off road riding.

I have seen it and I was thinking to do off-riding mainly because I have never done an off-road bike trip

Bike trip in Greenland

Hi all, after three years of trips on warm places, which are Tajikistan, China and Namibia, I am considering to go a remote and cold place. So, my mind came up with Greenland. From a web search, almost none people attempted to go there. Is there anyone here who cycled in Greenland? How was it? My pl...

Re: backpack panniers

Just a thought but if you must have a back pack why not just get a normal one and fasten it on your carrier with luggage elastics if you don't want to wear it on your back while you ride. I have already thought it, but I thought that it might be not really safe for the laptop (?) especially because...

Re: backpack panniers

Altura hook system relies to hook elasticity to block the uplift movement. I had a Basil bag and twice, the bag fell down because I kicked the bag with my heel. I've highlighted the actual fault for you: "because I kicked the bag with my heel". Don't do that! If you've got a pannier which...

Re: backpack panniers

@Pete75: I have already seen the carradice, but it is not really nice for commuting to work. The velcro is really bad and the hooka seem to be visible anytime. What's bad about the Velcro? I've seen one and it just looks like normal velcro to me. So what if the hooks are visible... Considering that...

Re: backpack panniers

That Altura looks like an ingenious solution. Again though I'm not sure I'd trust a laptop to its waterproofness since it uses zips. I'm not sure what you mean by 'terrible hook system'; my current panniers use the same hooks and they are ok. I regularly stuff them full of heavy shopping like fruit...

backpack panniers

Hi all, I need a nice bag for commuting to work. Till two weeks ago, I had a ortlieb officebag (medium size) which I was rather happy but it was too small for my needs. Moreover, it was not really comfortable for carrying it when I was off the bike, especially for long time. I just need a bag big en...

flying with Air Namibia and Ethiopian Airlines

Hi all, I'm prepraring for a trip in Namibia and I have few questions about shipping a bike by plane. I have always flown for my bike trips carefully selecting the same flying company, unfortunately it is not possibile for going to Namibia. Is there any way to check before buying a ticket if, I need...
