Re: Rear view mirrors?

I use one of these http://www.amazon.com/Bike-Peddler-Cycling-Eyeglass-Mirror/dp/B001VTQNVO and have found it to be just fine. Good visibility, no shake and can be used both left and right-handed.

A Questionable JOGLE

Hi Guys, Remember me? I undertook a JOGLE last August/September, but had to do it in two parts owing to a Cardiac Arrest on Day 10 of 13. I did finally complete the ride in June of this year, but it meant I took 329 days to finish what I started. I am sat in my study in Spain and reflecting that tom...

Re: The Final Three Days

Thanks Guys for your good wishes and a big thank you Charlie for your support, both on the bike and off it. It's been a great pleasure riding with you. Start brushing-up on your Spanish! Probably. The ride was not without its ups and downs but I'm incredibly proud but not smug about my achievement. ...

The Final Three Days

Hi Guys,

Just thought I'd check-in and let you know that I'm finishing my JOGLE this week. On Wednesday, I am going back to the lay-by in Clapton-in-Gordano where I had a Cardiac Arrest last September and doing the remaining 210 miles over three and a bit days.

Re: Unfinished Business

Thanks Mick; there's nothing like local knowledge. I will certainly take your advice and have already made the necessary changes to the route.

Thanks Keith for your good wishes; there are currently five of us in cycling group, but that may change.

Re: Unfinished Business

Hi Guys, I'm back in training and have finalised the dates for the completion of my JOGLE. I will set-off from the spot where I collapsed last September - Clapton-in-Gordano - on 20th June and will take 3 and a bit days to cover the 210 mile distance to Land's End. I am happy to report that at least...

Cycle: End2End

Am I being stupid? I opened the http://www.cycle-endtoend.org.uk/ website and can't find The Big List, The Journals or any of the familiar things. The web design seems to have changed and I can't seem to navigate it. Help someone.

Re: LEJOG after Heart Attack

I congratulate you on your resolve and courage in undertaking such an epic trip, after what must have been a frightening experience for you and your family. I was 711 miles and 9 days into my JOGLE last September, when I suffered a Cardiac Arrest and spent two weeks in The Bristol Heart Institute. I...

Re: Raising Money for Charity

I must be very naive. When I was planning my JOGLE in aid of The Firefighters Charity, it never occurred to me to deduct any expenses from the money I raised. If I had, it would have meant me "having a jolly" by doing something I really wanted to do and being sponsored in the name of peopl...

Re: November LEJOG

The sad thing is that with even the most minimal amount of forethought, preparation, or the willingness to take on board the good advice you were given, you could have succeeded.

And that you appear to have learned nothing from your experiences.

Installing mudguards on Specialized Ariel

I bought my wife a Specialized Ariel (2010 Model) and I have at last got her riding it. With the weather being what it is, I bought some SKS Mudguards for it, but when coming to fit them, I have discovered that the Suntour Suspension forks don't appear to have bosses in the right place on both sides...

Zing Went The Strings of My Heart

I have been given the thumbs-up following my cardiac checkup and my ICD read-out showed that there are no discernible negative after-effects following my Cardiac Arrest. I can therefore start training again with some modifications. (Just in time for the bad weather). I can also start planning the co...
