I'd always thought, it was built in America! pictures and illustrations are beautiful. Shame the meaning has been lost.

I know they are not the best bikes in the world, but surely the bikes could have been used by a good cause to make new bikes or for spares :(
After looking at this forum, i found it is possible to resurrect any old bike.

I think the price may be slighlty inflated

Re: FGM: gender discrimination?

FGM has nothing to do with religion and as for culture, i would say it is more of a habbit. FGM removes certain parts not for the benifit of the woman or any health reasons.

Will not post the details here, but here is a link with the polite version

http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/female-gen ... ction.aspx

It's done for the benifit of the man and not the woman.

Re: FGM: gender discrimination?

FGM is worlds apart from male circumcision. The polite version of expalining is that it involves a lot of cutting of the downstairs area and stiching. In some countrys it also involves binding the legs together afterwards  all this taking place while conscious and with out drugs. Imagaine that taking place on your gentlemans area.

I do find babys with earings rather gross. It's a horid and i am sure ileagal thing to do to something that is not even aware of it's own bowel movement

Re: EE Grrrrr!

Sorry for the late reply. The phone was locked so not able to call and i do not have a phone to fit the sim. I was unable to try another police station fortunatly
while waiting for my hospital appointment i gave it to the police person who was there. I have had a lot of phones in the past and all those required giving
the IMEI number to the network on first use. Now i just use PYG so no need to give my details. Hope the person gets the phone back.

EE Grrrrr!

Found another phone today, took it to the two police stations that i know of but they are both closed.
I have opend up the phone so it could dry out, then i went onto the phones sims forum to ask for advice.
Good grief! apparently the shop wont take the phone, my reply to the question was "What is the shop going to do with it"

Has no one ever heard of the IMEI number, the sim would be registerd to the person as well as the phone

Do i just take it to EE and dump it with them, would EE track the owner down or just bin the phone?

Re: Evil cyclists attack innocent babies

Wouldn't it have been best to pull over, check the child and go to a hospital in case it has glass inside the poor little tyke, instead of taking pics :(

The cyclist is a numpty for doing it.

And yes! If Brian said the only way he could sleep was by laying in a bath of milk stolen from orpahend kittens. Then a lot of kittens will be going
to bed hungry .

I don't know if items define a person but he had one of those expensive bikes with the bendy forks (can't think of the manufactures name)
and wearing full Sky kit so i doubt the phone is stolen (could be wrong) I don't want to have to meet the chap again so i gave it to RM to deal with

Hmm, saving a few real outspoken racists, I think being a minority or having some other attribute (non-uk clothing, as you put it) that would mark you out as not being of the majority, would probably help rather than hinder in this situation. Save the fact there were people of several skin shades in the video remonstrating with both the man and woman, if the police had bothered to arrive and the female driver had also been from an ethnic minority group, then she could claim hate speech had been used against her because of it. The claim itself can almost be taken as evidence of it happening, seeing as the police, following the Macpherson report now take the absurd stance that:

The definition of a "racist incident" will now include incidents categorised in policing terms both as crimes and non-crimes. It will now encompass "any incident which is perceived to be racist by the victim or any other person". A new Code of Practice will record all such crimes.

source:http://www.theguardian.com/uk/1999/feb/24/lawrence.ukcrime12

So, if you claim something is racist, apparently it is racist. Asking the wrong person about where they purchased their nice shoes, well, you could be a racist. Whether the claims of whites to have been racially abused carries the same weight as those of ethnic minorities, I do not know, but this is the police guidelines now and many people know it and seek to avoid any altercation whatsoever with people from ethnic minority backgrounds because of it.

Sorry for the late reply

First off, i am the one stating that one does not have to be white to be racist. I am not the one with the ubiquitous link with some chap saying that 'Black people can not be rasicist' Becuase that is pretty dumb thinknig that one chap speaks for everyone  (makes as much sense as Cameron saying 'He met a black man in Plymouth etc)

I haven't got the foggiest idea where people got the idea that i am stating that the whole crowd is a rasict horde intent on mass destruction (it's the internet so anything is possible) I did say that 'Good job she wasn't of any minorty race or wearing none uk clothing. I doubt the crowd would have been so restrained' and yes there are white minortys that wear clothing of the country of origin not everything has to do with skin colour

Yes i have seen groups of people of all sorts getting harrased, assulted and no i am not the one who stands around watching, tutting or walking away quickly. I am the one who makes sure the victims get away safely, i am the one who makes sure help comes (please note that the police will not turn up if they don't feel safe about the situation) and i am the one who has been stabbed, punched, bricked etc in doing so (years of abuse has made me indestructible  )

I do see the world in either black or white with no gray areas, so i mostly expect the worse from people (it's a nice surprise to be wrong.....)

If you want to get into a conversation with real racist i could get you a room at a B&B just so long as you aren't black you will be fine

Sony Phone found Birmingham

I found your phone :)

Image
It did try it's best to keep up with you, but you shot off. I found you at the cashpoint and waited for you to
finish before approching but you were not happy about it
I do recall what i said, but i haven't got a clue how it translated into
the reply you gave me (and i was holding your phone up infornt of me at the time).

At some point during your ride, getting home or just about to go to sleep you realised you no longer have your phone

This one

Image

I never saw any police persons to pass the phone onto and the shop connected to your mobile sim would not take responsibility for your phone (i don't blame them )
so i did the next best thing.

Maybe try being less
