at about 10pm last night I was out teaching my son to drive. as we approached a village where there was a 30mph sign we slowed down to about 25mph. there was a vehicle about 1/2 mile behind. as we exited the village and the speed limit signs changed to 40mph the vehicle behind was no more than 5ft behind us. He stayed at this distance behind until we were approaching a petrol station which we pulled into. the vehicle in question was a Land Rover.
After we pulled into the petrol I noticed a police vehicle parked up with 2 officers inside. I approached them and informed them that it had scared my son who was driving.
I am pleased to say that the officers had noticed the Land rover, and after talking to them they put the blue lights on and went to find the car and driver.
so in my opinion SUV and Taxi Drivers are the worst around this area.

Do you have the same legal status as a school crossing patrol?
We have exactly the same legal status as school crossing patrols.

Re: Bus Journey Prices
I live in Kendal, and about 4years ago as a family we were going to take the bus to Windermere to the airshow. On checking the bus fares it was going to cost for 2adults & 2children £30.00. We decided to take the car which cist a total of £10.00 including parking. Total distance was 8 miles.
If they reduced the prices the buses would be used more!!

Re: Knee problem
Thanks for the reply.
Wish it had been a party, I crouched down to mop up a spillage and as I got up I felt my knee go.
Looks like I will be off the bike for a while getting this sorted.

Re: Cataracts
I had my cateracts removed last year. The single vision lenses are very good quality. I now only need glasses for reading and I can get them off the shelf for a couple of pounds.
As said above they only do one eye at a time, you have a course of eye drop which you start using 4 times a day and reduce the amount over a 4 week period. The difference in colours are almost instant. I was in and out the operating theatre in about 30 mins, although I had to be there a couple of hours before hand for all the paperwork, and the drops to get your eye preped for the op.
Definately worth gettin done if you need it.

Re: Jockey Wheels
Thanks for the replies. As the wheels are badly worn I will invest in a new derailleur.

Jockey Wheels
Looking for a bit of advice.
I have been given an old Raleigh 10 speed racer. I have changed the bars to butterfly bars and i am keeping the downtube shifters. I have changed the wheels and now have a 9 speed casette on it.
My question is as the rear derailleur will move far enough and I have purchsed a new 9 speed SRAM chain, will I need to change the jockey wheels or not?
Thanks
