Re: Drive side spokes breaking

If spokes are too tight near to their limit. they will not last as long as they should when forces are then tending to push them too far and they can fail. This is exactly what was happening with Mark Beaumonts wheel and his spokes were snapping form fun. I do agree that too loose a wheel is more li...

Re: Drive side spokes breaking

Flip flops would be built assymetrical like a front wheel to minimize the risk. I would never build with heads outside its plain wrong and makes a difference if you are a big powerful rider as my past experiences, light weight riders may have a better chance, All I know is I have had no problems for...

Re: Drive side spokes breaking

Can depend on quality of spokes and how the wheel has been built. I have seen many rear wheels with the pulling and static spokes the wrong way round due to being machine built in some cases, If this is the case it causes the heads to shear off the pulling spokes, Best to return to the dealer, but a...

Re: Please explain this frame

This frame was designed for racing or more for time trialing really in its day, By having a vertical tube the rear wheel can be fitted closer to the bottom bracket reducing the rear fork length to around 385 mm for a 25c with guards so less than that for 23c with no guards, It was not really the int...

WINSFORD , NORTHWICH,MIDDLEWICH, CHESHIRE, NEW GROUP any interest.

Just sounding out at the moment. Would anyone in the area be interested in forming a group. This would be for Leisure / Touring rides, for any age but especially for older retired folks so rides could be arranged throughout the week as well as weekends. Sunday rides would be all day aiming for an 11...

Re: Private physio for bad back- update

A warning, anyone with back problems similar to these posts be very careful. Mine has turned out to be a badly bulging disc completely trapping the Siatic nerve and requires operating on, god knows when. I can only walk short distances with a stoop, and awful pain, its completely stopped my life. Ma...
