I've heard this a couple of times, and normally respond "in that case you'll appreciate how dangerous/aggressive/inconsiderate that driving appears to someone on a bike...". Doesn't make any difference though!

I have found the sealskinz all weather cycle glove excellent and waterproof. Kept my hands warm during the -15C commutes last winter. Make sure the gloves aren't too tight because this can cut off the circulation to your hands making them colder

If I google R1 cycle route You can use google search specifically on this forum, try writing (in the google search box in your browser or on google's home page): site:forum.ctc.org.uk R1 cycle route and google will search this forum for you. Doesn't work so well on forums that you have to be logged...
