Re: Mavic Ksyrium Elite's Refurbs or Not

I think the cost of Mavic replacing the rims is not far short of buying a new set. I looked into it myself a couple of months ago. I too am a bigger rider so decided to build my own wheels, I was a complete novice so bought Wheel Build like a pro by Roger Musson, he also details how to build a truin...

Re: H Plus Son Archetype rims.....or.....?

I can highly recommend H Plus Son Archetypes. I build 2 sets for myself last year one on Ultegra and the other on 105 hubs, both 32/36. Zero problem with any wheel and I'm over 100kgs.

Re: san javier

Yes sorry cv-925, it's rolling terrain inland but with nothing more that about 6% and no puddles or pot holes.

Re: san javier

Head inland through Pilar de la Horadada and follow the cv-325 towards the Embalse de la Pedrera Reservoir and follow the road around clockwise. Head back via San Miguel salinas via the canal. If you ride on a Sunday 100s of cyclists and very light traffic. Spanish motorists are also very considerat...

Re: Sweat in eyes solution

I bought on a few years ago, but found it became saturated and made my head even hotter than normal. There's another product called a seatgutr which I might try out. I'm fed up with insects in my eyes because my glasses are covered in perspiration.

Re: Helmet recommendations.

I think the reason for the helmet rule is that most cycle clubs are affiliated to British Cycling who provide liability insurance for group rides. I guess one of the stipulations is every rides wears a lid. As I said in not sure. As for a good helmet, try on a few at Evans find one that fits comfort...

36 Spoke narrow wheels that work out the box?

I too am about your size and have had previous rear wheel spoke/rim issues. So I took matters into my own hand and built a set if H plus son Archetype rims on Ultegra hubs using 36 rear 32 front DT Swiss Competition spokes. I must have ridden 2000+ miles with 100% reliability. I'd never built a whee...

Re: Atrial Fibrillation

I just re-read your earlier thread axel_knutt and hopefully can add a little more info. As I wrote earlier I had a successful AF Ablation in Jan. Post Op I suffered several Ocular Migraines, a bit scary as they have similar symptoms to TIAs or mini strokes. I went to A&E Royal Berks and they cou...

Re: Atrial Fibrillation

I suffered with AF for about 10 years until I decided to trust someone to have a poke around my heart in Jan this year. AF symptoms can be quite individual, the fitter I got the more AF I got, but the shorter the episodes and less disruptive. I'd go into AF after a long ride or when I Max'd out spri...

This worked for me too and it's any easy swap back to a 28-11 cassette when the extra gearings not required.

Matt Richardson from Henley, I saw some pics of the state he was in at the top. He's a strong rider and went full gas all the way up.

Re: Sprained ankle

Hi, As I have sprained my ankles.......fifty times in my life time...I can sympathise with you. I have unstable ankles, do phisio exercises every day. An unstable and badly diagnosed Ankle stop me from running and playing Rugby when after damaging it repeatedly throughout my youth. That was back in...
