Schmidt Edelux II (with coax adaptor)

Savoids the need for any soldering. The adaptor makes attaching a dynohub wheel much easier. https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/dynamos/schmidt-son-coaxial-adapter-w-male-connection/ Cable is 100cm. Asking: £86 plus postage (paypal gift). Edelux II in this guise retails for £149.99 (silver version in the l...

Re: Are bike carriers safe?

I used one of these for years, a Thule 7402 . During ownership it was attached to a towbar I had fitted onto a SEAT Arosa. I always locked my bikes onto it with either chains or ulocks (to prevent theives taking bikes away). Cheap plastic sheets were always available to cover the bikes in rainy weat...

Re: Campagnolo Daytona gear alternatives

My three bikes have Campag Centaur, Chorus, Record ergo levers. Long cage Centaur, Chorus and Comp triple rear mechs. The bikes have have Shimano rear hubs (105 or Dura Ace) I use Spa Triple chainsets (46/34/24....48/34/26....50/34/26) and custom 9 speed HG50 cassettes (13/14/15/17/19/21/24/27/30)*....

Yehbut, could you not have asked the shop if you could have borrowed their tyre levers and pump
in order to install and pump up the new tube?

Obviously correct of course.
Once bitten, twice shy.

Apologies from me. I didn't mean to cause any offence.

Re: Most expensive puncture repair

Rather foolishly left home with no tube and a poor quality pump. Garage door cable had snapped and got embedded in the tyre. Phone signal was not good so didn't think to call the approx four or five bike shops within 3 miles. Anyway £15 plus £7 for the tube was the damage at a random LBS Could you ...

Re: Towbar Mounted Bike Rack

We had a Thule on our car when we had a tow hitch. Fitted two bikes. Highly un-recommended. Not because of Thule or any other manufacturer, but if you get even gently shunted by the car behind ............. like we had ........ your bike is in danger of squidging. Luckily, my Mercian was the only b...

Re: Hub Dynamo for winter commute.

Just discovered a new offering from Shimano claiming up to 44% reduction in dynamo drag: https://www.spacycles.co.uk/m2b0s133p4385/SHIMANO-DH-UR700-3D good spot niggle..looks v.interesting.. Does that make it 56% efficient? The SON dynamo claims 65% efficiency . https://www.google.com/search?q=how+...

Re: Turbo trainers - how much use do you get?

I bought an emotion set of rollers a few years ago (for a lot less than they cost now and without
the forkstand/power meter stuff)
. It has 3 resistance settings. Dead easy to ride on. Should use
it more though.
