North Sea Cycle Route

I'm planning to ride another section of the NSCR next month hopefully riding from Hamburg to Grena in Denmark. Planning is going well but I've just hit a small snag. I'm navigating by Garmin and I've either got or plotted the route using Cycline guides from Hamburg as far as Frederikshavn, but I can...

Re: Seatposts

Many thnaks for responses.

I did think it was a bit of a long shot. The chap in question had a bike shop for many years and I suspected that this was old components.

Will give the Leeds links a try in any event.

Thanks again for help

Seatposts

A pal of mine is looking for an adjustable seatpost. He has one, many years old, that has the name SR on it.

The seatpost has a slide which allows the saddle to be adjusted backwards and forwards.

Has anyone any clue as tp where to get one?

... What's the thread I've got the mention on? http://forum.ctc.org.uk/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=66407&p=581420#p581406 I'm told that the MoJ don't like the Judicial Bench declaring their credentials on the web these days and are offering approriate advice. I'm sure that the advice will be well i...

Re: RLJ > Straight to summons

Carefully read everything you have received. Fines are partly set in accordance with known income and if that info isn't provided, they have to assume you are on top whack. It's also easy to assume that instructions ignored = indifference, when it may be somebody swamped with the legal paperwork. T...

(daveg - Have your ears been buzzing? I was talking about you on another thread this afternoon.) It wasn't me Guv, honest, or its a fair cop, whichever is appropriate! Sorry I only pop on here now and then at the moment. Been away a fair bit and quite busy. I'm afraid that Twitter has sucked me in!...

Re: Chris Boardman for PM!

First time I've heard this although I've seen the reports. Absolutely spot on. It's that type of calm presentation that's needed rather than all the hate and ranting that goes on. Well said Chris. I wouldn't suggest PM (but why not) although I would ask why politicians can't act grown up like Chris?

Mrs Daveg is insisting I take her to Blackpool on Wednesday to see the stage finish. There is no other reason I would go to Blackpool so I hope it's worth it!

Re: Where do cyclists look for accommodation?

I always use the local tourist information. They know what's what and I've always got good places through them.

Re: Bravery/Cowadice

The victors write the history books so bravery is always on the side of the victors. Just following orders is what the others do. As far as burgling is concerned it must get the adrenalin pumping so that basic fight / flight mecahnism will jump in which in other circumstances might be called brave. ...

Re: Wireless Speakers

Yes Dave, string and cans! :D The good thing about these speakers, is that I can put on Radio4 Extra via the broadband, and be able to listen in the kitchen. Yes, I know I could have bought a digital radio, but this unit will play anything our computers are listening to. Also, the sound quality is ...

I've got an LG phone and downloaded quite a few bike apps. They do what they say but they suck the battery dry pretty quick. Don't use them anymore.

It's a big one is this! I started with a half decent road bike but then bought a half decent touring bike as I started commuting. Then I bought a pretty poor MtB as was commuting in winter (and sometimes going off road for leisure too). Then did LEJoG so bought a better touring bike (after LEJoG) an...

Re: More Competitive School Sport

I agree with you, but you have put your finger on the heart of the issue. Kids used to get any amount of exercise "playing out", or just going places under their own steam. : Playing out was the thing. My parents only saw me at meal times. Other than that I was out somewhere, at the park,...
