Re: Changing the logo at top of forum page in control panel

Thank you. That is really odd. It worked on Sunday. If it wasn't meant to be there someone has now corrected it. I won't get used to it. I would rather get used to not using the forum; as seeing it reminds me of what has happened. It isn't the logo which is a problem. It is what the powers in charge...

Changing the logo at top of forum page in control panel

A few days ago someone helpfully posted instructions on how to replace the dreadful CUK logo with the phpBB tent via the User Control Panel. I did this at the time but it has reverted back to the CUK one now. Has the facility to do this been disabled? I've tried different options to do it again with...

Re: Don't mention the CUK

I just heard from the website guy at South Manchester CTC. He had seen it and seems aware that they have no choice on this.

Re: Don't mention the CUK

It seems that if you put CTC Cornwall into your browser you get the group website. If you follow the link from the CUK site you get the CUK middleman page.

Re: Don't mention the CUK

Yes gaz, I've seen that. The reason for my post was that the link previously went to the South Manchester CTC website directly. I can understand the seemingly ,"home page" of a group being a CUK page if it is hosted by CUK. The example of Blackburn and District CTC is a case in point. But ...

Re: Don't mention the CUK

I don't think they've read the rules - ... CTC Shropshire haven't followed the don't use CUK rule. Come ride with us – your local CUK Group!! Midweek Wayfarers CTC have read the rules but appear to have rejected the rebrand  . I expect there are other examples out there. Here is an example: T...

Re: Could someone please explain

I responded to the 2013 membership survey. But I didn't subscribe to Cycleclips. I suppose if the trustees were given the go ahead to select a new name they thought that meant that it was their choice what it should be.

Re: The slippery slope continues

Seeing was I own 4 tandems perhaps I really ought to join the Tandem club. Yes I do have problem........ :D We had three tandems at one time. A Longstaff tandem trike, a Lee Cooper regular tandem and a Bike Friday folding tandem. We were Tandem Club members and I was a TC committee member for some ...

Re: Touring in Cycling UK - a modest proposal

I've got an idea, why not run the Club alongside the charity with the Cyclists' Touring Club being the Touring arm of the National Cycling Charity?

What's that you say, we tried that one? Maybe not for long enough.

Re: The slippery slope continues

If all you need is a club to ride with and third party insurance you could do both independently of each other. That is if you have an independent (not CTC group) near you. For example I am probably joining a local independent touring/leisure rides club. It will cost me £2 per year plus £1 for each ...

Re: Don't mention the CUK

As previously mentioned, the fact that a request was made at a council meeting for members' views on the new name does not appear in the minutes does not mean that request was not made. Council are known to be very selective about what is minuted.
