Re: Commuted Membership Expiry Date???

In the end I took out a "five years for the price of four" membership as I couldn't stand the hassle every year. Ian So I took the plunge - as above didn't want to send in a cheque every year, didn't want to set up a DD either. I enjoy reading the mag, and participating in this forum. The...

Carradice Bagman Repair

I have a Carradice Bagman Expedition QR on which one of the black levers which are pushed to release the saddlebag has dropped out. I rang Carradice for a replacement and, great service, one arrived next day, free, along with a new spring and the bit that slides in and out. The problem is that the "...

Re: Mark Anthony Bikes

I had exactly the same problem with the "Track & Trace" malarkey.

These people should really not be allowed to trade.

Re: Insurance

M&S have a £4K non specified cover for bikes (with options for outside the home) on their home contents, it also happens to b quite competitive from the last quotation I did for someone. They don't stipulate particular locks either, rang and checked. Had a bike related claim through them,excelle...

Wide Fitting SPD shoes

Without going into boring details the podiatrist has told me I need to wear wide fitting ( wide at the toes ) cycling shoes (SPD ).

Has anyone any recommendations for any such footwear.

Will be at the York Rally this weekend so will have a good look,a place to start would be handy though.

Re: Keeping bikes in highest gear when not in use

Why not let the ratchet of a handbrake click? That's what it's designed for! I've never heard of one wearing out. When I was taught how to drive (at a Police driving school) it was drummed into me not to drag the handbrake up the ratchet, but to depress the button whilst applying it. The reason giv...

Re: Cycling plus magazine

Yes I used to subscribe to C+,mainly 'cos you got a free jersey if you did, still got it, not bad quality. As for the mag,as has been said there is little in it if you are not whippet thin and have a couple of grand to spend on a bike and dress in Assos to ride it. Plus,as in many "sporty" ...

Re: Rusting brompton seatpost

Why am I lucky? Are you suggesting these bikes rust after 9 months all over? Its only some tiny spots on the tube. I keep it sparkling generally. Its on its 3rd chain as they seem to rust after a while. Its on its 3rd right pedal too. The red paint on the frame is in tact, but the black tex...

Nutsey,

You are lucky it is only the seatpost that is rusting.
