Re: What's your average speed?

I have tried riding faster but I get distracted after about 10 mins a glance at a tree or nice view and that’s my speed training over. I have tried using a heart monitor that works for a couple of days then I lose interest. I’ve ridden for over 50 years now and am happy to just continue to be doing ...

Re: What's your average speed?

Knowing my average speed would make me depressed as I’m that slow. Saying that it must be above 7.5 mph as I can get round an audax in the 12.5kph time limit (sometimes only just). How do people judge average speed? From start to finish with the time running all the time or do they pause the the time...

Re: Komoot / Strava / Wahoo

I’m using Komoot on an Audax tomorrow I down loaded the gpx files to Komoot and will use the voice prompts to take me around it it’s nice to relax and not worry about following a map. I will down load the gpx to my Garmin and run that as well as a back up if needed. Also go old fashion and print off...

Komoot

I downloaded Komoot a couple of weeks ago. I used it properly for the first time yesterday. I was riding a recumbent trike. The app lets you choose various methods of calculating routes. I chose racing bike to keep me on roads from Devizes to Frome. I had a coffee then rerouted back to Devizes using...

Re: Sturmey Archer Dynamo Hub

I’ve got a 70mm dynamo on an ICE trike with a Busche Muller front and rear light with a Sine Weave USB charger it was set up for me by Bike Fix. The lights work really well the charger not so well. I think the charger is let down by me the rider not the charger. My average speed is around 8 - 9 mph ...

Re: Why don't more people use recumbents?

They are good on hills I can go at 2 - 3 mph with no problem. Only had to get off on one hill so steep that when I stopped I found it hard to stand up once I got up no problem pushing. Never had a problem with breathing as I’m usually so relaxed. Another thought about hills if it’s steep and wet som...

Re: Left or right foot de-cleating?

When I first used clipless spds I clipped in and rode away when I came to stop I didn’t know which foot to unclip first. So just guessed I in clipped left foot but on stopping my right foot tried to go down first clippless moment. Just didn’t think of it before.
