Re: Stanforth Skylander Rohloff
The thing that has suprised me SJS removed the the Rohloff internals and put new ones in for me. That cost me £250 so basically a new hub with 2 year warranty, but if I bought a new one it would have cost me £1200 does that mean the external bits cost £950?

Re: Stanforth Skylander Rohloff
The Orange has sliding drop outs and looks like a single speed. The triple and rear mech is on an ICE trike.

Re: Stanforth Skylander Rohloff
Rohloff has changed the gear ratio to 1.9 and the oil fill to 12.5 ml the flush is still 25ml. I’m 63 now but fitted the lowest gearing I could get to future proof it 34 x 17 I could have gone 2 teeth lower on the chain ring at 32 tooth but SJS cycles didn’t have a 32 in when I upgraded an Orange P7. I also have an ICE trike that has a triple chainring set on the front 22, 32, 44 with a 17 tooth sprocket on the back. I can use the 32 and 44 chainring but the 22 would be too low for the Rohloff. The trike was 3 x 9 so i kept the triple and the same rear mech to tension the chain.

Re: Hearing Aid Advice
I have NHS ones. The ones issued to me have Bluetooth, With Apple products you can download an app to pair with your hearing aids, With Android devices you need to get a device that attaches to the item to send blue tooth to your hearing aids. I carry my hearing aids in a glasses case when I’m on the bike and put them in when I stop. I have discovered Aftershock bone conductor headphones which I use with the Garmin gps or phone app. They do fit when you are wearing your hearing aids as well.

Re: Phone Mount for Ice Trike
I have a t bar mount I bought from Icelleta it is a Terracycle brand I have it on my left handlebar on it I have a Garmin out front mount and a Topeak dry case mount. I can fit a 1030 plus and a Samsung A12 it is a bit of a squeeze but they do fit together. The other side I have a mirror mount on that one I have put my Rohloff grip changer with the mirror sticking out from that. I started off putting the topeak mount on the cross bar that holds the wheels on sorry bit off brain freeze can’t think of the word for it.

Re: Cycle computers for Navigation.
I’ve had a problem with my Samsung A12 using navigation apps I tried everything but finally found the answer on yacf website, gps sub section. The new updates for android cuts off the app from working in the background. So when I tried using the OS map app for instance the recording was all over the place looking at it he recording afterwards there were lots of straight lines and the mileage was well out. Just tried it after following the instructions to fix it and the OS app worked well. Hope this helps if other people have this problem. What I hope to do is use the OS app following a route and a basic cycle computer with the screen blanked out and only showing distance.

Re: Kilometers or Miles?
I find the easiest way to convert km to miles or the other way round is 10km = 6ish miles.

Re: Kilometers or Miles?
I’m doing Edington numbers at the moment my riding is at 59 ie I’ve ridden 59 miles59 times, I need another 10 rides to make 62. This is using imperial miles as it’s easier than using metric. For the same distance 62 miles I have to ride that 62 times. The metric equivalent 100km would take another 38 rides so definitely imperial is easier for that.

Re: Cycling Magazine
It wouldn’t have been so bad if the pages were there but upside down, but they were missing just repeated ones.

Cycling Magazine
My copy has just arrived not good. It’s ok to page 42 then it misses pages 43 - 58. From page 42 the pages are upside down pages 59 - 76 then returns the right way up repeating 59 - 76.
