I think the key problem is that the Halfords management are all about the bottom line, and rightly so – THEY ARE A RETAILER, not an indie bike shop, plain and simple. For the BB you can use the park HCW-5, or as Mick F said, and if you’re not too precious about parts, then you can normally use a hammer and screw driver. As with most large retailers, stock is ordered based on stock level nation wide.
