Re: 25mm Paselas.

I`ve never had any problem with Pasela 28mm and I`ve been using them for a number of years. In fact I`m just going to order some Pasela 32mm.

Re: Blood pressure - treatment?

I`m in my early 60`s and have had high blood pressure for the past 3 years and take Amlodipine 5mg tablets twice a day, I regularly cycle, keep to a low fat diet, don`t smoke or drink. Have a monthly check up with the Nurse, I have other health issues that are probably not helping my BP at the moment. So a little change in your lifestyle will help.

Re: NEW TOURING SHORTS

Yeah Polaris Nexus short are no longer available unless your a size small, I was after another pair of these this year and was told they are no longer being made. They were the best shorts I`ve worn, still got one pair left that should last me out this summer.

Re: Member Group Subscription.

As long as your a paid up member of the CTC you can ride with any CTC group and you don`t have to pay any other yearly sub. Some group may ask for a 50p per ride just to help out with their cost, but any other subs are voluntary.

Re: What sort of stuff will a charity shop take thesedays?

I work in a charity shop, good electrical stuff we send back to our warehouse to be checked before re selling. Clothing that`s is unfit to wear is sold on as rags, so too are books that are damage in anyway. Bric brac that is damage is straight into our rubbish bin along with videos!
I have found over the past two years of working here, Carradice saddlebag, a brand new Brooks saddle, two brand new Ron Hill tops and I`ve lost count of the number of cycle lamps. Also get a lot of Hemlets but we can`t sell these so they go in the rubbish bin.

Re: Do you live somewhere near OLD HARLOW?

Perhaps you could try the Harlow Museum they have a collection of old cycles, and if they can`t help then they may know someone who can.

Don`t know about any clubs meeting at Great Notley, but you could try the Braintree Velo CRC

Hope this helps.

Having just looked at my mileage chart for 2008 (1,291 miles) I seriously need to get some miles in this year. And I`ve already missed the first club run of this New Year this morning!!

What about the more traditional leather cycling shoe from Reynolds, they have a website and I`m sure a Google search will find it for you.

I`ve just found some paperwork hiding on my desk about the W.O role:

There is clear evidence that our groups ofter lack someone to support members who may have concerns about joining the club, their own contribution, how to fit in or in the worst case have grievances about how they are treated by the club members or individuals. Having a plan for welcoming new members or volunteers is a clear need.

And as I`ve said before this is what the Secretary does anyway! What next a Health & Safely Officer? `Memberships number 001212 you can`t cycle with just one hand, but, but I was just signalling to turn right`

Yeah it was cold Christmas morning I had a short spin of around 15 miles, and I ran into a traffic jam as motorist were queuing up to get into our local Crematorium. The guy selling flowers was doing a roaring trade!
