Have another think - why just protect you backside from getting wet when you could also prevent grunge getting onto your expensive chainset and wearing it out prematurely?

It looks a bit like cable tidy. If so, eBay, Lidl centre aisle, RS, Lakeland, gadget catalogues, etc., etc

Re: Best push-on presta pump head?
Thanks for all the replies.
I went with the BBB/BFP-94 "airpipe" in the end. It's long reach pipe design will allow easy access to the valves in my Moulton small diameter, close spoked, wheels without losing skin off my knuckles. Not an extortionate price and very quick despatch from Tredz.

Re: Best push-on presta pump head?
AFAICS everything in that post thread is double headed except for the "Lezyne reversible screw-on", which is , ahem, screw-on.
I'm looking for a single presta push-on.

Best push-on presta pump head?
I've just bought a Woowind electric (battery rechargeable) pump as a replacement for my ageing track pumps and I very much like it.
In particular, I like being able to set the pressure in advance and go. What I don't like is the hose end. It is Schraeder with a screw in Presta adaptor. That's OK but the presta end has to be screwed on, which means you have to rotate the whole pump and hose to get it on. I want a push on presta hose end.
Can anyone recommend a push-on hose end? Single ended presta please, I don't want a double ended Schraeder/Presta one.

Re: 105 Hollowtech chainsets hollow ?
Indeed. I got up Ditchling Beacon on a 42 x 18 way back when I was in my 30s. It's a macho fashion thing, init?rogerzilla wrote: ↑7 May 2021, 5:04pm The pros have gone soft too. Can't race up Alpe d'Huez in 42 x 21? Take up golf, you lightweight
(Now in my 70s, I have a 36F x 40R to get up Lockyers Hill)
On the OP I've not had any problems with all three of my 105 hollowtech chainset-ed bikes. As reported above it's only the Ultegra and DA that have had problems.

Re: S-A trigger ferrule fitting
All done. A bit of filing of both parts and some persuasion did the trick.

Re: S-A trigger ferrule fitting
Barring other suggestions here, I'm going to try in some way (tbd) to make the hole slightly oval and file the small end of the ferrule a tad, until I can persuade it to go in, while it is still just oversize. Hopefully once in, it will be too tight to come out. Fingers crossed.cycle tramp wrote: ↑24 Jul 2023, 3:12pm Velobitz do a stepped ferrule, but that measures 3.7 mm.. and retails at around 3 pounds and 25 pence..
At this point, it may be easier to nip down to your local recycle a bike place and see if they've got the more usual type of trigger..
..failing that, as you suggested drill it out.. but, perhaps think about an additional support from the handlebars to the gear cable so that there is little or no stress at the point wear the ferrule enters the gear selector...

Re: S-A trigger ferrule fitting
Definitely not threaded. I looked very carefully with a light and magnifying visor AND I had a threaded ferrule from another trigger (4-speed) which I tried very gently so as not to damage the thread.rogerzilla wrote: ↑24 Jul 2023, 3:13pm It will be threaded internally. The correct ferrules have threads at the end of a narrower tube, so they screw in but then fit loosely.

S-A trigger ferrule fitting
I am trying to fit a new ferrule into and old S-A 3-speed trigger (which came without a ferrule). The trigger has a plain 3.5mm dia hole. It does not have a threaded hole. It does not have a large hole going into a narrower slot. It is a plain hole.
The thin end of the ferrule is 4.0mm diameter necking into a 3.0mm dia groove before the main body, which is 6mm dia. Clearly 4.0mm won't fit into 3.5mm. I need a sensible bodge or do I just drill the hole in the trigger out? Any suggestions gratefully received.
