Re: Tent for exposed areas maybe highish winds

Some Vango F10 tents for sale on Sport Pursuit just now https://www.sportpursuit.com/sales/vango-f10-jun19?type=Tents Mm have heard of that site ru, and complaints about it. A pop up blocks my sight of anything unless I sjgn in, and it suggests that I might want to do that via fbook. I'd rather wal...

Can't you contact Exped and send it back to them directly?
That's what I've done with my failed Thermarests over the years, sent back to Cascade Designs in Ireland.

Re: Giro on S4C

S4C Giro programmes are also available on BBC iplayer after broadcast, e.g. yesterday's stage 1 www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p077p6zm

No idea why they are on iplayer rather than channel 4's All4 service?

Re: Touring Bike Thoughts and Source

Genesis Tour de Fer from Evans, probably not actually in any particular branch in your size but they will get them in for you to try out. https://www.evanscycles.com/genesis-tour-de-fer-10-2019-touring-bike-EV360683 Or their own brand Pinnacle touring bike https://www.evanscycles.com/pinnacle-dacite...

Re: Front QR lever - what o’clock?

I do the QR lever up in line with the fork leg and have done so since I first got QR levers on my first half decent bike 29 years ago, I've never had a problem getting it undone. I do it that way because it looks tidier, there's no chance of it being pushed inwards in any way thus potentially doing...

Re: Quiet site near Loch Ness

I saw a huge motorhome a couple of years ago in a passing place. I understand that since they can be pretty well self contained, users of these vehicles sometimes don't even shop locally and wild camp, the latter being contrary to the spirit if not the letter of the wild camping legislation. It's c...

Re: Upgrading my Tent....looking at Hilleberg options.

The flysheet on the original Stalon GT was not nylon, it was a polyester material and in that it differed from the other Hillebergs at the time is was produced. Maybe that was why it degraded with such a short usage. My Stalon was not a GT version, and was definitely their Kerlon nylon (1800 I thin...

Re: Quiet site near Loch Ness

Faichemard Farm campsite is nice, adults only so no kids running around.
About 2 miles west of Invergarry, not sure if that is suitable for your route though.

Re: Upgrading my Tent....looking at Hilleberg options.

There is also the issue of UV damage, which can shorten lives. Are Hille's mofre resistant to this? No, I don't think so. My Hilleberg Stalon died from UV degradation after 18 years of maybe four weeks use per year plus a four month trip in NZ summer (high UV). My 30 year old Saunders Jetpacker Plu...
