Re: Tandem triple front mech issues

Have ordered said derailleur and will give it a go. I really do not want to go any higher on the outside chainring. Tandems require both riders to be happy with the set up, we had a 48 on there and we hardly used it so I think a 46 would be much better. I may try an eccentric shim as well to shift t...

Re: Tandem triple front mech issues

As ever Brucey thank you for your help with this. Would a Shimano Deore XT FD-M751 for the bill? May end up going with thumbies if this doesn’t work, I don’t want to end up with an unhappy stoker!

Tandem triple front mech issues

Hi everyone. Haven't posted for sometime but I came to you with a problem I am hoping you may be able to help with things. We have just come back from a 16 day tandem tour of Europe. Had a fantastic time but decided we could do with slightly lower gearing. I therefore ordered a Spa cycles XD2 triple...

Dawes audax supreme max tyre width?

Hi there. Does anyone have a Dawes audax supreme and if so can they please let me know what size tyre it may take? I have a friend looking to purchase one second hand but would like to know if 28mm tyres will fit.

Many thanks in advance

Hip flexor pain

Hi Everyone. I've recently returned to cycling after a bit of a break focussing on surfing and recovering from a spiral fracture of my fibula which has resulted in a 12" titanium plate in the leg and a pin joining the tub and fib. I've remained active on the bike but am trying to extend my mile...

Warm waterproof boots for lady cycling in the north east

Hi all My gf suffers from chilblains on her feet. She isnt one to moan or buy new things but having moved to the coast near newcastle from Leeds I'm expecting things to get a bit more chilly soon. I would really like to buy her some nice warm waterproof boots which she can cycle the ten miles to tow...

Re: 27mm seatpost with set back needed

I'm after 11.5cm of set back in total from BB, currently I have a san marco rolls on there but it doesnt go back far enough by around 4.5cm. A different saddle and a different post shoudl hopefully sort it. Those Holdsworth posts look great, may get one for another bike. They won't work for the tand...

27mm seatpost with set back needed

I'm after a bit more set back on the tandem so am looking for a 27mm seatpost with a fair bit of setback. Anyone know of anything off hand which may be of use? Would go down the Velo Orange post but it only comes in 27.2mm.

Nitto stockists in the north east

Hi there

Anyone know any bike shops in the Newcastle area which sell Nitto bars? Would rather get my hands on a few types rather than buying blind online.

ITM 260 PRO Ergal 7075 bars and Tektro RL520 issues

Hi all I'm struggling to get this combination to work on my tourer. I'm used to a more flat transfer from ramp to hood and these bars definately give a more of a steep ramp before the levers. If I try and set the ramp with less steepness by rotating the bars, the drops are not sufficiently horizonta...

Re: seatposts in frames

I think that you will be OK if you just use copper ease on a summer bike. There are various different preparations which might offer some benefit with particular combinations of metals, but only really when they are immersed in water or something. If your old seat pin is also Ti, you might be able ...
