Romsey A27 - local knowledge required please
I would like to use this bit road (in link) to link up a tour I am doing - it looks unpleasant, but there might be a small path along side - any locals know if the path is ok for touring bikes?

Re: Cycle Travel Question
Hi Richard Thanks as ever for a great product. I have a couple of feature requests - related to "my routes". I have quite a lot of routes now - I would like to be able to sort then on length - Some times I just only have time for a 20 mile - so I could have a quick look to see what is abou...

Re: Pootling not touring in the Loire Valley, and getting there
If only two of you are traveling, hire an estate (I use a passat) and put the bikes in the back. Secure, no wind noise and no hassle except putting on the front wheels when you get there. A couple of blankets to keep it clean and job done.
Just a thought

I left the car on Exeter, train to Barnstaple, ride to Plymouth, then train to Exeter. A long weekend for me. Very enjoyable.

The Verde is good. 1st few miles out of the port not great, then a lovely ride to the edge of Paris. I didn't go in when I did it

I use some BBB ones - they are fine - getting the grip on is 'fun'
I took a bit of fiddling to get the angle and distances of the headset right, but very comfy now on my tourer

If you are coming from the IOW then the Lymington is a much nicer landing spot - just a thought.

Re: Ave Verte GPX file
Early September. We looped out from le harve to Dieppe, up the verge to grissor and cut over the hills to run back down the Seine to le harve. Good ride, as ever could improve the route having done it!

Re: Touring Cycle computer that works with cycle.travel and has wifi/bluetooth
I use the OTG adaptor mentioned above. I have a 10 cm cable that can transfer the data (with the OTG bit) and doubles up as a charging cable. I have created routes with Richards fine site on my phone in the middle of nowhere, and moved them onto my etrex 30 with no problems

Re: New Route Planner
Another oddity I came across trying to follow route 2 to Plymouth across is http://cycle.travel/map/journey/68627 Outside Ivybridge - it works fine in the other direction, but fights back if you try and force it in this direction Is there a etiquette to fixing the OSM (assuming I understand how to d...

Re: New Route Planner
Hi Richard Just to let you know that there is a bit of a weirdness on the maps at the moment If you plan a trip from Lymington Hampshire to anywhere on the Isle of White it tries to take you via Keyhaven, via a ferry that only runs once or twice a day in mid summer rather than main, the every hour, ...

Re: Touring Netherland gearing option
We are following you over in a few days. I should think you will be fine - from my expereice in that area it is pretty flat - There are quite a few ramps to get up on top of the dykes etc. that might take some effort - depends how young and fit you are! It can be quite windy, so long as you are happ...
