Re: Rotrax Frame - info & valuation sought

I wasn't attempting to indicate a comparative price for the OP's frameset, just that Rotrax exists still in Southampton, albeit on a small scale, and that the build book going back to the 50's is available to enquiry and the simple provision of the frame number would elucidate what the OP has in the...

Re: Rotrax Frame - info & valuation sought

I remember visiting the shop in the early 90's just before it closed. As mentioned up thread the marque then passed to Tim Maund. One of his : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rotrax-Vel-d ... SwsxFdkiYn . The frame number would obviously reveal all.

Re: Rotrax Frame - info & valuation sought

https://rotraxcycles.wordpress.com/about/ Contact Tim Maund he has the build book and may even have made the frame. The frame number is on the underside of the bottom bracket.

Re: Rough gears (again) 4th of 7 speed rear. Suntour!

Yes you are right I should have looked more closely at the OP's photo - it must be a Shimano hub , so no problem to to swap out for something else. Suntour should have been left to lie in peace after its demise.

Yes it is Shimano compatible, not suitable . A pity.

Re: Rough gears (again) 4th of 7 speed rear. Suntour!

A Suntour Powerflo cassette from the mid 90's cannot fit a Shimano hub - as mentioned above the splines are different, spacing is apparently close enough for Shimano RD indexing to work - I've never tried this as I am running a complete XC Pro 8 speed drivetrain. I think for Accushift indexing is ke...

Re: Shimano cassette - Campag equipment

"what were you trying to make work, exactly? Is it still a live issue?"

Thank you for asking. I fitted a Shiftmate to match pre 2001 9 speed Ergos with 9 speed a Shimano drive train. All is well.

Re: Shimano cassette - Campag equipment

I was looking to narrow the pitch on a Shimergo (ergolevers + shimano drivetrain). At the bottom of this link https://highpath.co.uk/cycle-information-rear-derailleurs-and-indexing/ is a pretty clear overview of the various "hubbub" methods, which obviously entail placing the cable at the ...

Re: Campag Ergo Wear

Perhaps you should give Graeme at Velotech, as mentioned upthread, a call.He quite often posts on the forum with reference to Campagnolo questions. He is very pleasant to deal with and will give best advice. It is possible you might find that a current Record 10sp Ergolever and a Comp triple RD are ...

Re: Campag Ergo Wear

"If I do go back to DT shifting on Mercian, I'll be investigating the Shimano DT route. This would either mean some sort of device to go from Shim to Camp, or fitting a Shimano freewheel unit and cassette." Jtech shiftmate 1 + Dura-Ace 7900 dt levers might be a way. If the R061 is availabl...

Re: Campag Ergo Wear

I had gained the impression that the R061 was now no longer made available as a spare from Campagnolo, although it is clearly still made - for the Record 10sp Ergolevers.

"We're rapidly running out of alternatives!"

So has an angiotensin receptor blocker been ruled out, such as Losartan etc ?
