Re: anyone got any feedback on this frame holdsworth stelvio?

The problem for me is its Planet X. I have had one of their London road frames that was really poor quality, seat tube oversized, threads poorly taped in brake mounts, pin hole clean through the weld where the rear seat stay bridge met the stay, was told I could not have a replacement with free post...

Re: Peugeot PX10?

A fundamental question is 'why have you bought an older bike? If you take all the parts off your older bike and fit newer ones, arguably you may as well have bought a newer bike to start with; once you just have the frame left with a load of new parts on it, all the things that made it an interestin...

Re: Peugeot PX10?

Thanks for all that information thats far beyond the call of duty. I was under the impression i could fit a 7 speed freehub and use my 8 speed brifters adjusting the mech not to shift past the big gear as they run the same spacing as an 8 speed or do you think that wont work ? I would prefer sti shi...

Re: Peugeot PX10?

Looking again at the catalogs i cant see any braze on top tube cable guides on pre 1980 frames so maybe that would suggest the frame is 80 onward also looking at a scratch on the fork in the white paint it looks like the fork tops are also chrome but have been painted over. :?

Re: Horse badly spooked by inconsiderate bloke on a bike

Horses are trainable so why are owners/riders not training them, as has been said here the cavalry trained their horses to ignore the sounds and sights of battle so why are they not being sufficiently trained to ride on the roads?

Also now thats sorted I have backed off that &quo...

Any one have experience of the section from Tours to Orleans specifically whether 32 mm tires will deal with it well as I cant go wider without leaving the mudguards off.
