Re: BIRTHSTRIKERS ... !!

really, must we play the round the houses game? anyway, my point was clear, the more intelligent (the word is in the dictionary) women will be/are the ones to stop reproducing, and they would have been the ones more likely to have produced children who may be able to get us out of any imminent mess...

Re: Corbyn to be PM within 6 months?

Actually, I don’t have a problem with increasing tax and properly funding the NHS and public services. It’s more his world view, he seems to come from that particular group of 60’s Vietnam era lefties for whom America ( and by proxy Israel ) is the greatest enemy we face. I think his foreign policy ...

Re: Corbyn to be PM within 6 months?

I’m hoping that the young Momentum element will stop paying their membership fees when they don’t get their glorious revolution at the next election. Then maybe more moderate members will be able to have more of a say in policy and leadership. I’ve actually joined recently in the hope of adding my v...

If in Portsmouth, try the Royal Armories at Fort Nelson.... especially if they are firing

Good idea, I’ll give it a go. I didn’t realise they “fired”, sounds excellent thanks.

Re: Techno Innovation?

I bought a new record player last year ( a Rega P6 ) and love being able to play my old vinyl again. Albums hold emotional memories that Spotify playlists just can’t compete with. I’m also very wary not to become reliant on Spotify for my music, what if they jacked the prices up after I’m retired an...

Re: Currently listening to .......

BBC4 showed a documentary about Don McLeans American Pie album last week. I’ve always thought the song was fairly good, but now I think he’s a genius and will buy the album. Well worth watching on catch up.

Re: met office

I like the Met Office. I have a soft spot for them for calling D a Day right and feel the BBC shouldn’t have dropped them. I’ve even invested in their weather app.

Re: Beaujo For PM

It amazes me that the Lib Dem’s haven’t been able to capitalise on the unpopularity of the 2 main parties. How do you know they haven't? It will only become clear at the next General Election. Personally, i believe the Lib Dems have been punished enough since their 2010 collaboration with the Tory ...

Re: Do you drink too much?

Some weeks zero, some weeks 1 or 2 pints. Even when I have had a pint, I enjoy a cup of tea afterwards more. I’ve nearly always got something better to do, like cycling.

Re: Right Honourable Member or Not?

I notice the Tories weren’t so outraged when David Cameron implored the female Labour MP to “Calm down dear” a few years ago.

Re: Turbo Trainer Groupset

I went 11 speed 105 Shimano on my turbo just because I had 2 other bikes that run 11 Speed Shimano. I figured the ability to swap wheels / cassettes might be useful. Other than that, I actually use a non indexed down tube shifter. This works absolutely fine with my dumb trainer + Stages power meter ...

Re: Down Side To Smart Meters..Before I sign Up

One of my customers just paid a heavy price for his smart meter installation yesterday: 1. When the meter installer turned the power back on he managed to blow the boiler PCB. Maybe just bad luck, but the PCB would have probably carried on quite happily without this intervention. 2. The incompetent ...
