Just got back from France used mainly cash which was ok for camping . will say you can use contact less but charges can apply use Revoult or similiar . avoid Credit Agricole ATM's they charge the most and exchange rate is very bad, Sadly they also seem to be most numerous

a little boggy can be avoided , but you are walking through heather with no path as such,if two sheep have followed each other thats your path and it will disappear. So gps or compass for general heading picking a way for eight to nine kilometres

i walked this area a couple of years ago the firing range has red flags to show use , but as to path not really you just pick your best way south

when I did lejog used the route help of mick f to escape Cornwall route instructions were in a notebook. each days points to aim at, road numbers included. then back of book bike shops gleaned from internet, accommodation and options for bad weather routes all in one notebook

going up the A466 wye valley road isn't too bad Monmouth would be about halfway with accommodation options ,from Hereford I'd take the a4110. not a fan of the a49 until it gets on towards
Leominster. plot your options on bike hike until you get a profile you like.

Going up the wye valley is probably the easiest way big elevations to usk. From Glastonbury go, cheddar, yatton, clevedon, sheepway just past portishead cycleway by m4 avonmouth bridge

2000 miles on a spa wharfe now, 200 k rides and its still hard, no dimples not uncomfortable but never really comfortable , brooks b17 never suited so will keep going with the spa

I use one has been water tight so far, got it for the extra protection .does make using the buttons a bit of a fiddle On satmap 10 taking off the protective lens to add the cover generally means

On your day 3 route at the start of Gloucester a38/m5 roundabout heading north you quickly bear left into quedgeley cyclepath to ring road cycleway all the way to highnam/newent turning

had a problem with a brooks myself, overtighten was plan A -ended up wrapping emery paper around rails clamped on that cured it. rails ended up rougher and now

i used the A30 from blackwater to zelah hill which is not the worst , would not do wheal rose to three burrows a30 again

i did lejog may/june this year A49 /A6 OK all the way to carlisle well signposted, easy navigation. acceptable for traffic good for time/cafe's/accomodation
