Re: Cash v Contactless use in France?

Just got back from France used mainly cash which was ok for camping . will say you can use contact less but charges can apply use Revoult or similiar . avoid Credit Agricole ATM's they charge the most and exchange rate is very bad, Sadly they also seem to be most numerous

Re: Cape Wrath

a little boggy can be avoided , but you are walking through heather with no path as such,if two sheep have followed each other thats your path and it will disappear. So gps or compass for general heading picking a way for eight to nine kilometres

Re: Glastonbury to Clun

going up the A466 wye valley road isn't too bad Monmouth would be about halfway with accommodation options ,from Hereford I'd take the a4110. not a fan of the a49 until it gets on towards
Leominster. plot your options on bike hike until you get a profile you like.

Re: Glastonbury to Clun

Going up the wye valley is probably the easiest way big elevations to usk. From Glastonbury go, cheddar, yatton, clevedon, sheepway just past portishead cycleway by m4 avonmouth bridge
through part of avonmouth to aust/severn bridge cycle path Chepstow then wye valley

Re: LEJOG next month

On your day 3 route at the start of Gloucester a38/m5 roundabout heading north you quickly bear left into quedgeley cyclepath to ring road cycleway all the way to highnam/newent turning
and pedestrian traffic lights to cross dual carriageway to newent, dymock, Leominster and a49 not a bad ride

don't move without emery
