Re: Pedal tap set

Screw the pedal into the crank from the inside of the crank. This may clean up the threads sufficiently for you to have another try from the right side, and save you some agro and pennies at the same time. You've nothing to loose if it doesn't work.

Re: M part sport aheadsets

Your quite right, that fact had escaped my attention so yes the top and bottom bearing assembly's are identical bar the inscription, so you get 2 bottom bearings if you need them. Bargain especially if you are looking for a jis headset.

M part sport aheadsets

Recent thread discussions about headsets has prompted me to post this useful fact about M Part aheadsets which can be picked up for less than £10 from several shops and if you only want a lower race then you can use this in your next renovation job. The 1" size comes with 2 crown races for iso ...

Re: 21mm quill stem?

21.15 was the standard size for BMX and early MTB,s in the distant past. You could have had a replacement fork from an old MTB. You need to measure it accurately using a Vernier caliper or something similar. On the other hand you could take your bike to a cycle shop and get them to see if a standard...

Re: Constantly?

Thanks for that Cothele quay it is. I know we walked there from Calstock as we used the train from Plymouth, and it was in excess of 30 years ago. :D

Re: How long can you store tyres before they go off?

That would make sense. I know it was recently made law that car tyres can't be sold if over a certain age, 8 years I think? This accident may have triggered something in your memory. It's at the consultation stage but not in to law as yet. https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/coroner-rea...

I think there are enforcement actions available. Didnt a driver get prosecuted for having a swig from a water bottle while stationary at the lights.

Pedal taps

Are these pedal taps? They are described as unified thread taps but the pitch isn't correct for unf threads, but is for pedal taps which are 9/16 X 20 threads per inch, and they come as a pair of left and right hand threads. Anyone tried them? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fww...
