Re: what tools for transam tour?

if you think you wish to take a cassette removal tool do this-
get an old chain and make to correct length
get two small bolts say m4 and fit chain to strong piece of alloy bar
get a lock ring remover
get a spanner to fit it and cut some off it for weight saving.

get,get,get!!!

Re: should you ride when lightening is about

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee...

if you done nothing wrong you nowt to worry about!!

me
breckenridge colorado,
mountain biking bakers tank route,
very very heavy storm in afternoon,
singletrack turned to rivers,
strikes going off within a few metres, really!!,
just got off mountain as fast and safe ass possible and make sure (being a guide) that others did to.

Re: Retaining bolt for saddle (the one that keep the saddle

just take the bolt into your local fixings and fasteners store, available in steel or stainless and for a few quid you will get a bunch of them,

agree, had my bob/yak for a while now and with my giant road bike its fine with a light load, been camping locally a few times, you just alter the way you ride, you have to!!,had silly weight on it to the local dump recycling to,just take it easy vs doing it hard!!

but with my dawes tourer its a different game....

Re: Is it worth reporting...

get the reg and just report it at the local station, walk in there and do it,i did with a mate in may of this year,we had a bit of trouble so took rego and reported it,its well worth it,why should we as road uses put up with it!!,most things i let go but certain harassment then im sorry i go and report,so do it,this guy was a hgv driver and pleaded guilty in court and has a conditional discharge for 12 months, which is a criminal record and its designed to serve as an incentive to prevent re-offending.

if convicted of committing any other offence during the time of conditional discharge then in addition to the sentence for that offence the defendant can be re-sentenced for the offence(s) of the case.

its in your favour!!

can you be more specific? your whole bike in the trolley or lock the bike and just carry you bags in the trolley?

Re: Sidi shoe convert to SPD

easy to get over with any cycling shoes, you get some alloy plate,drill/countersink it out to fit your shoes, bolt in plate then sort your cleat position, you then tap and die it yourself or take to local engineer to do it for you, done!!!
