model number for Shimano short reach aero brake levers

I have posted this theme in several guise; wanted and tech matters so will try this one. I need some Shimano short reach aero brake levers and although there are lots of second hand aero brake levers out there, it is impossible to know if they are short reach. I have two model numbers for Shimano sh...

Re: help. shimano part number for obsolete parts

some here; http://web.archive.org/web/20150323032257/https://www.paul-lange.de/service/Support/Shimano/BLBrakeLever.php but far from complete. The current version of the Paul Lange website appears not to have this info on it in an easily accessible form. Velobase is worth a look too. But it seems t...

help. shimano part number for obsolete parts

Somewhere in the distant past I thought I found a Shimano webpage listing the part number of obsolete parts but of course, I cannot find it. I need some Shimano Aero short reach brake levers and have two part numbers already; BL 1052 Shimano 105 BL 6402 Shimano 600 I will be very surprised if Shiman...

Re: Park Tool Chain Tool CT3

if you are stuck with a 3.2 model I wonder if you can make it work for you by jamming something (a small screwdriver?) in the workings so that the spreader slot works OK with 7/8s chain? cheers [edit; also o course a stiff link can usually be freed off by simply twisting or bending the chain (tip; ...

http://www.parktool.com/product/chain-tool-ct-3-2 http://www.competitivecyclist.com/park-tool-screw-type-chain-tool-ct-3-par0051 What's the difference between the C3 and the C3-2? Why do you need a C3 specifically? C3.jpg C3-2.jpg The floating anvil on the C3.2 closes up too close to the fixed anvi...

Park Tool Chain Tool CT3

I need a Park Tool Chain Tool CT3, the CT3 is no longer in production and has been superceded by CT3.2.
I have found that the CT3.2 will not do the job.
Does anyone know where I can buy a Park Chain Tool CT3 in the U.K. or mainland Europe.
I have also posted on the wanted site.
Thanks.

GPS eTrex transparent screen protector

I like many others have a GPS eTrex 20 and just recently came within an ace of scratching the screen. I now want to fit a transparent screen protector and can see the advantage of applying an adhesive backed film but I am concerned that I may be doing more harm than good. Can someone please give me ...

Re: repairing wounded Vistalite Series 300 lamps

if you want to carry on with a 'sustainable' (i.e. repairable) set of lights then you may be able to - replace failed LEDs - convert the electronics to use different/more available parts. You can buy a light with functional electronics inside for as little £1 ( eg in the pound shop). These have ver...

repairing wounded Vistalite Series 300 lamps

Running a small fleet of family bikes I have got through a number of rear lamps, Vistalite Series 300. The photo shows 7, plus a bit, of them that are in one piece with faults such as fail to switch off, 3 out 5 led`s work, constant on but no flash and so on. I am down to my last new Vistalite and a...

Correct bottom bracket spindle length.

I have asked this question before but it got bogged down and shuddered to a halt due to questions and queries regarding type of crank taper, differing cranks will place the middle chainring in alternative positions, and so on. I wanted to know, what is the measurement from the frame centre line to t...

A TA Zephyr triple.
I am well aware that much has been discussed as to the Zephyr being JIS or ISO and there being doubt as to when any change took place.

working out spindle length for bottom bracket.

I have trawled through this forum and the web only to finish more confused than when I started, and yes, the subject has taken a bit of a thrashing. Can someone advise. For a bog standard touring bike I need to find out the spindle length of a new bottom bracket for a triple chainset , 135mm wide re...

Rear derailleur spring

On my Shimano rear derailleur I have cured a reluctant gear change to smallest sprocket by backing off the "B" adjustment screw until the top jockey wheel is almost kissing the large 1st gear sprocket. As we know, up changes (higher gear) are by spring tension, friction in all its forms al...
