Re: France - channel to the Med (or vice-versa)
You can always hire a car, one way, at the end of the trip, back to the ferry port. Its very easy to do. This yr we walked in to Avis at 09.00 and were traveling N everything packed by 10.00 Dropped the car in Caen and cycled the last 15k to the ferry port, and luckily caught the next boat. I reall...

Re: Camping in the Netherlands
Have used the Natuurkampeerterrein sites and guide for the last three out of four years. We have always pre ordered the book before we left, but I am sure you can turn up at any of the sites and join if you want. When it came to payment for the book we simply sent a 20 euro note back with the receip...

Re: Anyone know a cycle route UK to Copenhagan
We found Denmark good for shops, there open the same hours as UK shops 7 days a week. Food was more expensive than Germany and in our case vegetarian food quite hard to find, only managed in health shops. For camping try and get a copy of 'Overnatning i det fri' basically camping in peoples gardens....

Re: Third bottle mount for Trangia bottle
We use Bikebuddy on both our bikes. On my Aravis though, I found I could not fit the 1ltr bottle. It either overlapped with the front mudguard or caught on the chainset, so have to use a 0.5ltr instead.

There is a nice camp site in Velsen Zuid.

Iirc the ferry crossing to the north is frequent. We rode from the camp site in the morning straight onto the ferry.

Re: Meeting traffic in narrow lanes
I must admit it did worry me a bit not looking at the approaching car but I felt he'd have to be a complete nutter to have run me over ,I'll admit it does take a bit of nerve, some would say stupidity even On a lane I ride along it seems to me if I make eye contact with the driver in some cases it m...

Re: Dutch Bikes - are they worth the premium?

For 400 euro's there is quite a bit of choice. Nice couple of days in Holland and a new bike to take home. http://w...
