You probably want to take a look at Runkeeper too.

Although originally developed for Runners it works well whether you are walking or cycling or any number of other activities.

The problem you might find with all of these GPS-based apps though is that they are quite hungry on juice because they are effectively permanently active constantly polling for their current location.

Yes, when you start to look at what there is it would have been a great shame to have lost it all.

I'm hoping that everyone will enjoy the schedule I have put together for releasing material during April. I think it should be a pretty good balance between regular club runs and more extended touring.

The exploits of Charlie Chadwick

Charlie was a lifetime member of the CTC from the early 1920’s through to the late 60’s. He was also an assiduous chronicler of his cycling exploits and after being tucked away for many years in the loft of David Warner (another former CTC member) we are now underway with a major project to bring his work to a wider audience. www.charliecharwick.org is a not-for-profit website setup by David with the sole purpose of bringing Charlie’s writings and drawings to the wider cycling community.

Charlie’s writing is widely regarded to be of a very high standard and he modelled his drawing style of that of the great Frank Paterson, who I am certain will be familiar to many of you. He maintained a journal from 1922 throughout the 20’s and into the 30’s and from his early sketches his drawing ability really developed during this period. This work was all done for his personal satisfaction alone and as far as we know he never showed it to anyone. Thus it is a real pleasure that we are finally able to bring it to those who are interested in cycling, social history or even just a good story.
