Re: Stolen bikes on Gumtree!

Gumtree should be asking for the framenumbers... They don't even have to check it... Someone spots there bike on Gumtree, tells police, police ask Gumtree for frame number, frame number doesn't match but joe bloggs insists it is there bike.. Police go round to the guys house, oh he provided an incor...

Re: Useful site ?

It's okay and it's used by most police forces in the UK, my one beef is it doesn't make any of the information it has on a stolen bike public..

So if Joe Bloggs is buying a bike on eBay he can't check it against their database (actually I just found a service he has to pay to check it!).

Shocked by what I just learned...

As many of you know I run a Stolen Bike register, and because of that I've been very interested in what the police can and can't do... I finally got a personal response from an officer from Sussex Police today.. 1. Police CAN'T search frame numbers UK wide using their own systems 2. Police sell of a...

Re: A comprehensive list of stolen bikes?

Hi, The best way to search them all is to search "Stolen *MAKE MODEL*" in google. I run one of the registers, and have recognised this problem, I already approached Immobilise to see if they would be willing to work on a solution but they declined. The others have there webpages searchable...

Re: GPS for bait bike?

I'd be worried about the rear light, £80 for it and it can be removed really easily (meaning the bike would be lost)

In particular this one: http://www.integratedtrackers.com/GPSTrack/ I'm thinking I'm going to leave this locked up in m...

Re: STOLEN Felt Z85 - Wandsworth, London

Will keep an eye out for it, as it's london you can use [ur=http://bikeshd.co.uk]bikeshd.co.uk[/url] to keep a look out for it.

What where the aftermarket parts? If they were pricey it could be taken appart so keep an eye out for those too.
