Re: Broken shoulders!

Having looked at your x-ray and your slow recovery, I'm so pleased that I could opt for no surgery. Good luck for getting better as quickly as possible.

Re: 3 in 1 Oil

Not used it on transmission parts, but think that it might be too thin?

Re: A positive thread

3 good things on the Isle of Wight:- 1) seeing the staff at Morrisons present a large bunch of flowers to a gentleman who's wife was taken away by ambulance; 2) being given very adequate passing room and respect by all of the motorists who overtook me whilst cycling to and from the supermarket from ...

Agree, but it is causing a great deal of animosity, out of the "signed up to" joining requirements when all of us joined the Forum.

Nice story Mick. Do you think that Plymouth Evans would notice if you wheeled out a new bike past their non-security system?

Re: Broken shoulders!

Agree with all the above. I broke 5 ribs (3 of them twice), broke shoulder + punctured lung. Originally told 6 weeks in hospital, but home after 6 days. Surgeon offered to operate on shoulder, but recommended leave alone (which I opted for) because muscles were holding broken ribs together, which wo...

Re: Harmful 'phone calls

We invested in a BT Call Guardian 'phone - no more nuisance calls! The best bit for me is that we also have a basic 'phone in case of power cuts. It always gives one ring whilst the Call Guardian deals with the nuisance calls, then nothing! We win again :D

Yes, get it checked out properly. Hip pain can have several causes, each requiring different treatment. Please say hello to Arnside for me (an ex-Cumbrian).

Re: Whatever happened to bamboo clothing

One of the premium cycle brands made jerseys from it a few years ago, but the reviews weren't good as when you put stuff in the rear pockets the jersey sagged badly. Presumably it is just too stretchy for cycle jerseys I found that the socks stretched a lot too. Three pairs all went the same baggy ...

Re: Priority for Cyclists?

This is a good idea. However I would use the phrase: 'Prioritise Active Travel' instead of cyclists. This so that we do not forget our friends who are walkers, mobility buggy riders, vulnerable road users, horse riders etc etc. Best way of looking at this - the more of us that there are, the more c...
