Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Hi All, my dad has a Viscount Aerospace Deore 18AX which I saw mentioned many (many!) pages back. He uses it little these days, but it would be nice to see it go to a nice home. I'm thinking about putting it on ebay, but wondered if anybody here might be interested, or might have an idea about it's...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

I agree with Busaste, that's too beautiful to sell. If I was local I would be bidding for sure! And I don't think the pictures hide any of the flaws. Truth is, it has only minor ones anyway. For a bike of its age, it has cleaned up beautifully. Are you intending to give up riding altogether? Becaus...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Wow! That looks good! Too good to sell infact - why not keep it? Anyway, the chainrings look like TA Criterium (classic French stuff), presumably a 52/44 teeth combination. A new set of genuine bolts for these is £30+! Thanks for the compliment. I must admit the thought of keeping it did enter my h...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Further to my previous posts, I thought I'd post a couple of pictures now that the bike has been cleaned up a little in readines for ebay listing http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s41/snarf_27/Viscount/IMG_8146.jpg Anyone able to identify these chainrings? http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s41/sna...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

I'm sure you're right about the hubs, although not shown in the picture there is a made in France legend on the hub. Re the forks (sorry to labour this) I read this article on Flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29548699@N04/2763700474/in/pool-1119963@N21 and if I understood it correctly all three...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

A couple more pictures, (still not had time to clean yet) and questions. http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s41/snarf_27/Viscount/8092_1.jpg Do you recognise these hubs? http://i149.photobucket.com/albums/s41/snarf_27/Viscount/8087_1.jpg What features identify these as "death forks"

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Here is a picture but it does not show the bike at it's best as I haven't had time to clean it up. To the best of my knowledge all parts are original, can you tell from the picture if it has forks of a later standard later than the "death forks" fitte...

Re: Viscount bicycles!!

Firstly let me make it clear this is not a disguised attempt to sell. I have a Viscount Aerospace Pro + Shimano and it weighs in at 11kg, it needs new tubs and some TLC but it’s basically a sound bike. I bought it about 25 years ago for £40 and have used it on about ten occasions in all that time. M...
