Re: Garmin 1000 for night ride

You can change the colour of individual routes (or, at least you can with courses, which is what I use - drop a .TCX file into the newfiles folder). When I load a course there is a settings option, as well as map, etc., but it is off the bottom of the screen & easy to miss, you need to scroll d...

Re: Garmin 1000 for night ride

Did a recent Audax following the .gpx file on my Garmin 1000 which was all going well until the Garmin flipped over to night mode and the track was very difficult to pick out against roads, so much so that had to keep stopping to check I hadn't gone wrong so for all you seasoned night riders what w...

Re: Tubeless tyres

Is there not a middle ground, where you run tubeless out the door. Put a tube in if you get a puncture on the road, then repair the tyre when you get home and start again? Did you find it difficult to get the tubeless tyre on/off on the road? That is about all you can do, tube it if its flat and of...

Campag Question

I have a 1992 steel road frame that I am bringing back to life, rear dropouts are 126mm. Thinking of restoring with Campag gear so question is what groupset would be period correct and what is maximum speed cassette, not interested in spreading the chain stays to accept 10 speed. Any places to look ...

Re: Tubeless tyres

Bit late to the party but I've been running tubeless on the road bike for about 6 months, tried both Schwalbe and Hutchinson..... verdict, a bit longer between punctures.....and I've gone back to tubes. Problems I found were that a small puncture would self deal but only to about 40psi and still nee...

Re: Kickstarter - CyclingUK asking for donations to fund "close pass" mats.

Is there any communication and commitment from police forces that if these mats are purchased they will be in a position to operate a close pass campaign ?

Re: Holes in Gatorskin tyres

I've plenty of friends and know several Couriers that do use them for tens of thousands of miles. I guess is just bad luck with the riad, or that every thoudsand tyres there may be one that is more prone to damage? Wow, I have never had a set go beyond 4k miles but Hampshire's flints are not kind. ...

Re: Canyon?

Great bikes and very good value unfortunately the German customer service is probably the worst you will find. I have had 2 Canyons, the first was delivered 2 weeks late, I cancelled another one when the delivery date passed and they could not tell me when i would get it and a 2nd I ordered last Dec...

UK to Portugal

Looking for information and routes, I would prefer to stay "on road" with tarmac using a road bike with 25mm tyres so no cinder or gravel tracks. Will be using a motorhome for accommodation en route so would prefer to steer clear of big cities. Any links or web sites I can research would b...

Re: Passing clearance - motion at AGM

14) Legal minimum passing clearance The AGM requests a legal requirement for minimum passing clearance when overtaking or near to cyclists, to try and reduce the frequency of motor vehicles passing too close. On roads with speed limits up to and including 30mph or when passing at a speed up to and ...
