Re: Inner tube size

I am surprised as i thought the inner tube had to be at least the size of the tyre.

Re: New to ebikes can't decide

You could try facebook marketplace in the area where you live and view the bike in person as there are some real bargains on there, i got a carrera crossfire 2 for £130 in as new condition and the retail price was £300. I have done nearly 1100 miles on it and not had any issues at all.

Re: New to ebikes can't decide

To be honest you may be better getting a step through frame just like this one and like i said the holy grail for me is defo try before you buy and get a test ride if at all possible. Frame size is only a guide to be honest. Keep us posted and let us know how you get on. https://www.electricrider.co...

Re: New to ebikes can't decide

Defo try before you buy and just make sure you take your time, the most important thing is get a bike that fits you right as you will not want to ride it if it does not feel comfortable, i would never ever buy any bike without a test ride first, i like the halfords carrera crossfire to be honest and...

Re: New to ebikes can't decide

I would defo avoid an e-bike with a rear rack mounted battery system as this would make the back end of the bike very heavy as the hub motor is on the rear wheel as well.

Re: New to ebikes can't decide

stodd you would have thought that a massive company like halfords would have sorted that by now when they know what a problem it is, quite frankly it beggars belief to be honest. Any halfords staff on here who can shed light on this issue maybe?

Re: New to ebikes can't decide

Do not buy anything less than £1300 retail price as you will live to regret it, if you join the british cycling federation for around £25 you can get a 10% discount off the halfords bikes, and also any bits and bobs purchased there as well, the carrera crossfire seems a decent bike and i would defo ...

Re: chain wear; another spot on the graph?

Must admit that finish line wet lube lasts for a very long time when applied but the downside is the filthy chain and jockey wheels that go with it. Was thinking of trying weldtite tf 2 wax, has anyone used this in dry weather dusty conditions off road cheers?
