Re: Port Appin loop

I took my trike over to Lismore from Port Appin in October year before last, and the road from Appin to the ferry quay was pleasantly quiet, but the main road A828 is a "major" minor road, with heavy lorry traffic. I did see cycletrack and pavement separate from the main road for a good se...

Re: Mildenhall Cycling Festival Cycle Jumble 25th August 2018

There's a pretty full video feature on the Bentrideronline website covering the WHPV Championship at Bettshanger https://youtu.be/oxEGy0Wq13I?t=1 and a rather too brief interview with Mike Burrows half-way through https://youtu.be/oxEGy0Wq13I?t=2728 Having returned from Mildenhall Rally yesterday (w...

Looks like the on-site camping is all booked out. Anyone know a local campsite that has decent facilities ?
I fancy heading down Saturday and come back Sunday.

Re: what to buy..... decisions, decisions

There's a new-design Evo Kett (folding) on Ebay at the moment - the seller has reduced their asking price from £3k to £2k650 or best offer. You can see what it looks like folded. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Recumbent-trike-Hase-Kettwiesel-Evo-FOLDING-full-suspension-2017/292595527572 Recent BMW X1s h...

Thank you - I'll study those carefully. Looks a lot different to my minimum clearance:

Re: Short drop deralier for 20" wheel trike

Can we have some pictures please, Tilley ? I'm sure I'm not the only one who'd like to see what the position of your new rear mech is when the cage is vertical. Do you notice the additional weight - have you found any negatives from making the change ? For me it'll be useful to see, I'm considering ...

Re: Up for a ride?

Cheers to Will and Andy. This time last week we were at the Eleveden Inn with a couple of cold beers. The fact that Andy caught up with us after getting delayed before the start is a reminder to always post the route before the event (note to self) . But as my route planning normally strays into the...

Re: what to buy..... decisions, decisions

Standard "new" Hase Kettwiesels don't fold, but the new EVO Kettwiesel design has a folding option, IIRC. Daveyboy has a new design Hase delta (the "Trigo"), and the seat on that is higher than on my ICE Adventure, and maybe higher than a Kett. Alternatively, the "heping han...

Re: Up for a ride?

Thanks to Brian, Daveyboy and Andy for joining the ride - and apologies from me for the difficulty of the off-road section - I (and Google Satellite) had no-idea that 1,000,000 tons p.a. of Hanson's aggregate mining would come between us and our back-on-road destination, resulting in a major U-turn ...

Re: Bargain Recumbents Ebay

I'm thinking the scammer must target accounts for real shops, and hack them to coincide with them being closed at the weekend.

Judging by the slow response over previous scams likes this, Ebay staff are also not at their desks until Monday :x

Re: Up for a ride?

OK, Sunday 27th is now in the Diary - I'd go for the St. Ives trip we couldn't do earlier in the year. Seem to remember planning to have lunch up at a Pub in St. Ives, too. Route https://goo.gl/maps/e96wRJR6Ugn 10.00 a.m start at Cambridge Rd "Green" Impington Cambridge CB24 9PS https://go...

Re: Pictures of your recumbent

OK, so its not mine, but I thought it'd be good to share a photo of a Hase Trigo. Its owner and I had agreed to head out on a morning's ride, and he's well-pleased with his choice - 3x8 gears, a differential to drive both rear wheels, independent rear disc brakes (with parking brake lever) and varie...
