Re: Will I be wasting money?

I personally would have a look at this. I would buy the aluminium version at £1299. I dislike discs and am not a lover of Carbon Fibre. There are some interesting articles to be found on the internet which contradict popular opinions on frame materials. Failing this I would go and visit Condor and s...

Re: Bestest ever bicycle brakes... ?

Remember that until around 20 years ago, the normal arrangement on 'everyday' cars was disc brake front, drum brake rear. AFAIK drum brakes were only phased out with the universal adoption of anti-lock braking systems, which couldn't be made to work with drums. Our 2016 car has drums on the rear. I...

Swap shimano for campag

I have an old 531 framed bike, which I currently use with braze on Campag friction gear levers and the rest of the set up is Shimano, with a 7 speed cassette.I am considering putting 7 speed shimano index gear levers on instead of the friction ones. Will the Shimano ones fit the Campag braze on brac...

Re: if having to buy a bike on frame measurements alone, whats MOST important?

I like you am 5’11” my legs are perhaps very slightly short for my height. I have several bikes which are all 56 cm or there abouts. With the slopping top tube seat tube length is difficult to determine. My advice is buy the smaller frame you can raise the seat post and put a shorter or longer stem ...

Re: Which gear lever will work with a Shimano Deore m610 10-speed rear mech?

er, that is a shimano 10s MTB mech. Won't work in a (shimano) 9s system. Perhaps you misunderstood what your tech was saying, or maybe he got it wrong but that RD won't work with a shimano 9s shifter. [most (not all) shimano road 10s mechs will work in a shimano 9s system, but MTB 10s ones definite...

Re: ? Easy 100km rides in the Midlands, England?

There's an strip of the Cotswolds running from Tetbury in the west to Clanfield in the east which is surprisingly easy going. For instance: Start in or near Cirencester. (straightforward to drive there from Brum) Head SW out of Cirencester on NCN route 45 to Kemble. South through Oaksey to Hankerto...

Re: Cycling to loose weight

If you want to shed it faster than that up the mileage and reduce sugar. What ever anyone tells you weight loss and gain is calories consumed v calories burned. Incidentally Strava tells you calories used. My wife looks at my Strava account then tries to force feed me the calories I've used. There ...

Massive screen, and I can see it.

If your device is too small to see it properly, buy a bigger one.

It’s difficult fitting a 55 inch tv screen on my handlebars.
