My Genesis CDF's Acera 9 speed rear mech is pretty much worn out, could I replace this with a Deore 10 speed mech, would this work with my Sora 9 Speed shifters?

Re: Not very Schwalbe ....
Yes they are light for Schwalbe, having said that they didn't get much in the way of punishment, just a little gentle off roading, spent most of the time on the road or cycle paths, I just thought I'd get a bit more than 8 months use out of them, have to say, they rode nicely though ... ah well, you...

Not very Schwalbe ....
Last summer I purchased a pair of Schwalbe G1 tyres to replace the Clement xplor's on my Genesis Croix de Fer, after only two summers they are worn out, knobbles worn flat, and a sidewall failure on the rear tyre, this comes as a suprise to me as I have had many different types of Schwalbe tyres ove...

Thanks for your replies chaps, I now have lots of small brass washers to complete the rebuild, hopefully this will solve the problem.

Re: Sturmey Archer Hub Spoke Snappage .....
Thanks Brucey, I take on board what you say about used hubs, I'm wondering if I could improve the edges of the flange holes with an old spoke and some grinding paste ... maybe ... washers on order!

Sturmey Archer Hub Spoke Snappage .....
I've built quite a few wheels over the years, but I am no expert wheel builder, however, all of the wheels that I have built have served me well until now .... I recently built up a 700c wheel with a NOS Sturmey Archer 3 speed steel hub ( 36 spokes 3X, Sapim spokes, plain gauge) being a symmetrical ...

Re: Brooks Cambium saddles, is there a weight limit?
Thanks for all your replies chaps, I'm rapidly going off the idea of buying one of these, at £100 a throw I'd be expecting something rather more durable ....

Brooks Cambium saddles, is there a weight limit?
I'd quite like one of these, however I'm a bit on the the chunky side, are these saddles suitable for somebody like myself, given the elastic properties of cambium? - also what do people who have them think of them?

Re: Wheel building - Spoke length question ...
Thanks for your help chaps, much appreciated, Brucey, I don't have the model number for the rim, thanks for offering to find the info though. Mick, I've cut some spokes and used your method to measure the rim, dead handy!
Great stuff chaps, many thanks Kahu.

Wheel building - Spoke length question ...
I need to buy some spokes to build a wheel, I'm using a Sturmey Archer 3 speed hub, and a Rigida 700c rim of 1980's vintage, this rim is very similar to a Mavic G40 / Mavic MA40, I'm using 36 spokes, 3 cross, I think the spokes need to be 285mm long, somebody else has suggested 287mm. Any advice wel...

Yes I know the place that you mean, it's further along the road at the Cainscross end, as to any connection I don't know.
