Re: Transgender woman wins cycling championship

There is a group on here that often demand "Evidence" for any comment that is made that they disagree with .... the cries of evidence grow louder and louder in proportion to the amount of disagreement felt ... But they will never offer "Evidence" to substantiate their ownpoint o...

Re: Transgender athletes (and related stuff)

https://www.gov.scot/publications/racist-incidents-recorded-police-scotland-2013-14/pages/25/ No actual evidence of racist intent needed. If anyone claims anything is a racist incident then by that definition it is. Thankfully it does not apply to the majority of ... it's Scots Law not English ...

Re: Transgender athletes (and related stuff)

It's a complex matter. But I think we can assume that transgender people competing in women's events and the consequent complaints from some other competitors is not a women's rights issue. That's because women's rights group have been silent, just as they were about recent events in Rochdale and R...

Re: Flying.. why? why not?

Why drive to Scotland? The train to Liverpool from Sheffield takes a couple of hours. I can easily do Derby > Belfast return cheaper than the airfare and I live round the corner from EMA. No it can't be done in a day, but I expect I could find a cheap room in Belfast for the night with the change. ...

Re: Transgender woman wins cycling championship

.... I use that trick too. It often catches people out if they're not too critical or observant. Still no power to weight figures or peak power or FTP figures? No comparison between mtf and cisgender females? There is a group on here that often demand "Evidence" for any comment that is ma...

Re: Remembering the Fallen.

I wear a poppy on remembrance day. I however, hate the way they have become compulsory for people in the public eye, politicians, footballers etc. Shaming people for not wearing one is the absolute antithesis of what people fought and died for. I also know that post war, some service people objecte...

Remembering the Fallen.

I travel all over the country fixing things. I have noticed, everywhere from Edinburgh to Penzance, how many people of all ages are still wearing Poppies. Usually enamel ones, although in a few cases the paper ones still. I asked one of the staff at Haymarket Depot why she had one on her hi-vis jack...

Re: Flying.. why? why not?

What sort of diesel vehicle only does 37mpg? I would hazard a guess that in reality quite a few will struggle to achieve that! My Insignia 2.0 Diesel does sub 30mpg just nipping to work etc.I doubt it would do much more than 35mpg on a run.It might Squeeze 40mpg on a run if I tickled it and...

I make sure everyone has no doubt about my being a cyclist .....
1. Ride a bicycle.
2. Sometimes wear lycra.
3. Sometimes wear other stuff.
4. Always say hello to others on bi-cycles ....
5. Sweat a lot and stink of formaldehyde ...
