The Tea Room: Use this board for general non-cycling related chat. Something not clear about that?

Re: Ridewithgps No More

Also the Sign Out icon - which was located logically on the Home page has now been buried on the Help page. It took me 10 minutes to find that out. So another 2 extra clicks to leave. Really? On my Windows laptop, the drop down icon at top right, for sign out, stays visible in the header of every p...

Re: Food waste and 'use within' dates

I'm currently in correspondence with Lidl in an attempt to understand why the label on a jar of their pickled onions says 'once opened, refrigerate and consume within 3 days'.

Re: Not quite on a road but....

Hmm, I'm inclined to agree with the comments calling 'fake'. If you re-run it several times and concentrate on the train, it literally has an 'aura' around it suggesting it has been added later.

Re: CANDIDATES FOR THE CTC/CUK ELECTION

Much as I would have loved Skidd to be permanently excluded and found Phillip Benstead's posts so incomprehensible due to a lack of attention to what he had actually typed. It wasnt really the "done thing" to gag critics in this way, well it wasnt until we became a modern inclusive charit...

Re: Lidl 'hard bendy plastic' panniers

...however it was a bit too bendy and bent into the back wheel! Exactly the same thing happened with mine! Perhaps the design has changed over the years, but on the pair I bought two or three years ago, only the coloured parts (yellow in the above image) were waterproof. All the other panels leaked...

Re: Lidl 'hard bendy plastic' panniers

Note that, though they bear a vague resemblance to Ortliebs, these are very definitely not waterproof. Unfortunately, the included raincovers do a very good job of collecting water thrown up by the rear wheel. However, for the price they're ok, as long as contents are protected by a waterproof inner...

done

You might want to consider removing these email addresses from your identical Facebook post. Plastering other people's email addresses on the internet is, at best, extremely bad form.

Re: 'Cycling World'.

In the interests of fairness, I have to record that the July issue of CW arrived today (only four days after the June issue!), so perhaps they have finally got their act together. It has yet to appear on Smith's shelves, here in Stirling. Oddly enough, I did detect a hint of uncharacteristic efficie...

Re: 'Cycling World'.

Si, could I add here, rather than on the other thread you mentioned, that my experience of Cycling World's failure to deliver the magazine exactly mirrors that of Bill's? The distribution of CW to the subscribers is appallingly inept. The June issue appeared on the shelves of W.H. Smith on 22nd June...
