Re: Rebecca Twigg

This is Angels Fear to Tread territory but I'll go there anyway. In Brucey's pictures Rebecca isn't wearing a helmet and the one she is wearing in the article looks more decorative than functional. An article in the New York Times got me wondering if she had had any head injuries which may have con...

Can you transfer a Rohlaff hub?

Contemplating getting a Shand Stoater but would like to use the Rohlaff I have on a Thorn bike. Is that viable or are these set up for certain types of frames. The Stoater is a Rohlaff frame.

Re: Team Sky is now Team INEOS

That may be the root of this attitude: people hate few more than those who resemble one's discarded past selves. I don't particularly "hate" anyone.I just think it's all a bit pointless. Some people don't see the irony in what they're doing...protesting about one thing but directly funding...

Re: Team Sky is now Team INEOS

I can't see it having any real effect. Chatting about this with my cycling friends/club mates and generally they all have similar views to me and that is we don't particularly care who sponsors Team Sky/Ineos,or any other Team for that matter,so long as British riders are winning GTs 8) Its just a ...

Re: Team Sky is now Team INEOS

You can include local councillors in South Yorkshire and elsewhere in God's own then. The "usual suspects" represent areas that were decimated by pit closures- and what happens- proposals for fracking that would potentially have major environmental implications. Yes, I think they are righ...

interesting. Something to think about. Going solo I'm not getting any drafting bonus so a bit more hills might be worth the extra peace and quiet.

Re: Lejog for wimps please- or am I on my own? ( merged )

What's the main reason the WIMPS route - and most others - go through Gloucester instead over the Severn bridge? Intuitively it seem going through Wales might have a bit less traffic and cuts out 10-20 miles?

Re: Close pass - am I overreacting or should I take a stand ?

Post it on twitter and copy in a few cycling friendly accounts that can amplify the video. If the company (I couldnt see the name) is on twitter copy them in as well.

Re: Team Sky is now Team INEOS

Maybe having one big sponsor, sponsoring one big team getting a lot of success will somehow attract other big sponsors, benefiting other teams. Maybe owning a cycling team will become the next must have accessory for eccentric billionaires. It is interesting given how big pro cycling is in other Eu...

Re: Team Sky is now Team INEOS

Jonathan Vaughters thinks that it won’t be good for cycling on the long term, as the high level of funding will continue to allow Team Ineos to sign the best riders and lots of them. However, this is a bit like criticising the top 6 teams in the Premier League for buying up all the best football pl...

Re: Team Sky is now Team INEOS

while this is great for riders and at least in short term the sport - long term i worry about the lack of competitiveness - personally I will never support anything to do with this brand. The length it has gone to undermine progress in climate change is sickening.

In my view, power banks have all but killed the need for solar panels unless you're on some arctic expedition.

Re: Iain's 2019 LeJog

Got my train to Penzance and bike space booked. What a faff!. I've been watching the train booking site GWR.com as I can book the ticket and bike space online. Today was the first day cheap advance tickets were on sale for 22nd May. I didn't see this until 5pm. The only cheap tickets for Glasgow - ...
