Re: Record attempt scheduled

Damon Peacock has posted a short video of Michael's lejog from last year. Just started watching at the moment but so far its really good. Goes on about the history of previous attempts.

Re: John's LEJOG 2019 route

Day One. No comments other than you've picked a very steep hill down into Boscastle. I blew out my front tyre I was braking so hard when I went down it last year. Better to take the longer shallower route down.Screen Shot 2019-06-05 at 09.17.41.png Day Two. VERY VERY hilly along the coast. If you a...

It's where I live! A bit unusual I guess but I'm going to take a road bike for the first leg and travel light. Then swapping bikes (and having a couple of days rest) to take camping gear for the remainder.

John's LEJOG 2019 route

Hi Planning a first lejog starting in a couple of weeks. Hoping someone could give a glance over the first leg of my route. I'm not hoping to go fast just looking for a route that is off the busy roads. The end point is where I've booked a hostel / BnB. https://www.komoot.com/tour/61759630 https://w...

Has anyone measured passing distance?

Just curious if anyone has made a sensor that can measure the passing distance.

I would love to see some data on this and the speed of the overtake.

Anyone with experience of railsail?

Looking to do a tour or Ireland coast in August and it's much cheaper to use rail sail than do it separately.

Just wondering about booking a bike after the transaction. Will I get charged a load more fees?

Re: A9 Perth to Inverness

Im guessing if this special road status came into place it would be the end of any lejog records for the foreseeable future.

Re: Cicerone End to End route review

We have just completed LEJOG following the cicerone end to end book & gps files. It was fantastic! We had gravel bikes loaded with bike packing style bags (rather than panniers) carrying tent, sleeping bags and clothes between 2 of us. It certainly wasn’t the flattest route but the climbs were ...

Re: Mick F route fast but safe.

Booked my train tickets back - Thurso to Brum. Around 13 hours on the train for £30. Don't know how Scotland can run its train so cheap?

Re: Full length tights for summer?

I use Ron Hill Bikesters for spring riding. I don't think they make them any more, but they do Tracksters, which are similar. More bike specific (and more expensive) are the Polaris ones - I've not tried them. https://www.polaris-bikewear.co.uk/Bikeze-Multi-Sport-Cycling-Tight-p/pol01-1008-p.htm?Cl...

Yes in part but also I find shorts of any type just dont fit me that well so I really don't want to go down that road if I can avoid it.

Full length tights for summer?

Could someone recommend some full length tights that are usable in temps up to 20ish degrees? They need to be padded but preferably not bib tights. Bonus if they have foot stirrups.

Re: Record attempt scheduled

Good luck to Ian To, and indeed anybody else who plans a record attempt this year. My only plea is please, pretty please keep us armchair supporters updated with progress. We are on your side. Apologies if this is just me being dull-witted, but what the significance of "Project 44"? IIRC,...

Re: Rebecca Twigg

This is Angels Fear to Tread territory but I'll go there anyway. In Brucey's pictures Rebecca isn't wearing a helmet and the one she is wearing in the article looks more decorative than functional. An article in the New York Times got me wondering if she had had any head injuries which may have con...
