Does anyone else think we have killed the planet?

I don't mean to get on my high horse but does anyone else think that people in cars are partly responsible for the current weather? I'm of an age where I remember winters meant snow. Nowadays, the norm is flooding. In the Independent it mentioned the current weather is the new norm. If reputable com...

Does the public detest cyclists?

Here's me thinking I'm saving the planet and not being a burden on the NHS by cycling and keeping fit.
Yet, we seem to be attracting lots of negative press. Us cyclists need a charm offensive, What would you do?

Re: New overtaking video

I remember those information videos from the 70's about strangers, brushing teeth, crossing the road and swimming at sea even to this day. I cant believe its taken this long to do the same for cycling. Other road users are ignorant of the facts and its about time they were educated by videos like th...

Keep You Distamce

Drivers getting to close must be the most commom complaint on roads. I applaud the recent advert about space for cycling and even someone refered to the advert the last time I was knocked off. Given todays technology there must be something to ward off drivers about close passing without the need of...

Fat Bikes

Went into my LBS to enquire about the Genesis version. Jesus, first time i've ever had a shop put me off spending money. Are they just a fad? I really fancy one but would hate to spend a grand to end up sitttimg in the corner. Ive already got a Croix de Fer so should I bother. Any 'mature' owners ou...

Re: Not even an 'are' you OK!

Hit by a car again. Lots of people there to help me off the road making sure I was fine. Driver came over to say he has 2 witnesses that will testify that didn't hit me. Someone took his reg plate but you know something, no point, the police dont protect citizens who cycle. Yes it *IS* worth report...

Re: Glasgow commuter cyclists - report the fault

I'm Motherwell to Glasgow (sometimes via Coatbridge) Im not a betting man but something tells me that North Lanarkshire spend the least amount on cycling infrastructure in the UK. Ever tried looking for places to lock your bike up in Motherwell, Airdrie, Coatbridge, .... ? micturate poor. although t...

Taking Cycling Too Seriously

Guy on the train refused to hang his cycle in the storage area. The reason,he didn't want to ruin his carbon wheels. Young girl with a pram had to stand in the doorway. I offered to move my bike but she was too embarassed. I love that cycling is becoming popular but unfortunately we are going to att...

Re: panniers panniers panniers???

I got the biggest Altura's and have used them for 5+ years. I always thought they where waterproof but I wrap everying in plastic bags anyway. Biggest is not always best unless you really need to. You will end taking the kitchen sink otherwise.
