Re: On the Go Video editing - Android

Thanks, - Sounds like my options may be limited.. :-( I'd be using the phone for everything, shooting the video, the edits and the uploads so hoping for something fairly simple, just to trim/splice and maybe overlay a soundtrack. Phone is one of the the latest and greatest.. Nexus 6 with Android 5 L...

Re: Santander to Biarritz

If you are using a phone, - as primary or backup to maps, then 3 will be including Spain in their 'Feel at Home' package from April, so whatever your allowance is in the UK, it will be available in Feel at Home countries. - If your phone's unlocked you could get a rolling 1 month contract quite chea...

Re: Flying back to UK from Cape Town

I've flown both Virgin and BA both ways for the Cape Argus and it was a doddle. - Bike in cardboard bike box, - pedals off etc a nd helmet shoes and stuff in the box. Easy drop-off and collection both ends, - you just get directed to oversize luggage. - With Virgin I seem to remember the bike was fr...

Re: accommodation

Another advantage of booking online is that often there are cashback discounts in addition to the lower prices available in advance. - Sites like TopCashback can offer generous terms, and hotel sites like booking.com, hotels.com and expedia seem to be particularly good for this, regularly paying 10-...

Re: Chain cleaning

My Mrs. Puts Domestos down the toilet most days...The rats don't like it much. I don't think a bit of parafin/Gunk from cleaning a bike chain is going to make a whole lot of difference, given the other crap we put into the drainage system and oil/diesel runoff from the roads.

Re: Show me your underwear

+1 for the M&S Base Layer kit, although I've found the briefs more comfortable than the long trunks for cycling. Got mine online and delivered to local M&S Simply Food for free.

Re: Cycle touring for 10 days around Suffolk & Norfolk... Id

Im staying just outside Cromer this week in Overstrand, and had a day out on the bikes yesterday. We weren't following any particular route, but the lanes and villages round here are beautiful (...or should that be 'bootiful'?). NCN 30 is well signed and stays on quiet lanes inland, but is never far...

Re: Bus Driver Road Rage

Sorry maybe I should have given this some deeper though, but what a <moderated> ... So he knows the depot manager. Who cares? He should put more effort into safely avoiding confrontation with large vehicles by keeping well out of their way or adopting a defensive position rather than going around wi...

Re: I've Just Discovered Radio 4 Extra!

I'm bemused by the concept of loading a recording onto a mobile phone to play it back.. :-) Ok, so you need to have a smartphone with a reasonable data allowance, but cut the middle-man and use the BBC iPlayer radio app! It's free and you can play any BBC station either live or on demand up to a wee...

Re: Touring Shoes

I've used the 43's for a 1 week tour and they were fine, comfortable on and off the bike. I went for a size up, from a 43 to a 44 as I'd heard the sizing was a bit small, and the fit is perfect.

I'd be interested to know, did anyone bother to ask what you were doing, or did they just walk on by?..
