Eroica and York rally

Where were CUK this weekend? Not a squeek at Eroica Britannia, no publicity for York rally.

Re: It's all in the name - Cyclists' TOURING club

On the note of criticism there are few options for former members(I assume we are All former members since the club/charity change) since the magazine seems to be heavily biased.

Re: The slippery slope continues

Currently running a Jack Taylor, repairing a Peugeot for Eroica(youngest one outgrown the Taylor, ungrateful sod!) Dawes double edge likely to be sold this year and a Pashley tourmaster on permanent loan( came out of a skip!)
Will be looking at TC, especially their insurance.

Re: The Rebrand is Essential to our Future

I've been trying to find a positive comment on the name change for a few days.
Give me a clue I'm genuinely unable to find a positive comment.

Re: The slippery slope continues

I guess the bottom line for me is
Where do I get 3rd party insurance and the legal backup that has always been a big selling point for me.
The rest of it has largely become an irrelevance, ie a magazine that is nearly always " read " in five minutes, few local groups, no rally etc.

Re: The slippery slope continues

Like many I'm looking for an alternative, BC ETA or simply to arrange my own insurance and join a local or specific interest group.
What others are available?

Re: The slippery slope continues

Oh and as Euskadi has so rightly said retro is big. Growing my whiskers and dusting the cotton duck off(actually both 're all year features!)for my 3rd Eroica in a few weeks. Eroica is everything the old York rally could have been. One of the reasons it failed was because peeps didn't want to pay to...

Re: The slippery slope continues

For me touring was the thing that brought a diverse group of cyclists together. Racers who toured and the hard men/women who were true athletes Family tourers Commuters who toured and aspired to tour Shaggy haired students who wanted to see the world Old men who relived the travels of their past and...

The slippery slope continues

I just wanted my disappointment out there. I'm sure I have nothing new to add. The winged wheel has been gradually hidden away the writing was on the cards when 2 logos appeared. York rally was killed off even when Eroica reinvented it, and CTC tried to get on board which in my mind was so sad. Eroi...

Re: family membership

I'm another member very annoyed by the letter sent to me telling me that I can no longer pay by direct debit. I've emailed twice(the email confirmation say replies should be made within 3 days) and have received no reply. Likewise I don't like the direction ctc seems to be taking and have been a mem...
