Re: iphone route app

The National Cycle Network app from Sustrans is quite useful as it lets you plan routes on a computer, save them, and view under My Routes" on the iphone. I hate the delay when you try and zoom in or load a different part of the map and you are standing freezing at a crossroads! I find them all a bit fiddly and mostly use Open Cycle Map which has an offline option which loads quickly wherever you are and still shows you via GPS where you are on the map.

Re: Round the World couple killed in Thailand

This is a really thoughtful response on the Travelling Two website to the tragedy.

Re: Can’t remove nut to access freewheel.

Thanks for your really helpful replies. I tried the two nuts locked together idea, and in doing this freed the axle from a dustcap which was stopping it sliding out! Job done, thanks again, Simon

Can’t remove nut to access freewheel.

I tried putting a larger freewheel on a rear wheel which isn’t suitable and now I want to remove it. The problem is that I can’t get the freewheel tool on past the axle nut – the nut is fatter than the space in the freewheel tool (when I put the freewheel on it must have slid over the nut). And the axle nut will not undo. I’ve tried removing all the nuts, cones and bearings on the axle from the other side as I thought the axle would then slide out, but it doesn’t.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Many thanks
