Re: Danube Cycle Way and beyond

I second everything that has been said about the Austrian section by the other posters so far. Regarding cycling from Prague to Berlin, the route is quite rough in parts on the Czech side - so speed will be affected. There is also very poor signposting of cycle routes in Czech. Once over the border ...

Re: That, Long Hot Summer of 1976. Something to Remind us of

I was 16 and living in Ireland. Even there the sun shone and the farmers were in despair for water. It was such a long time ago. Let's hope this year is a repeat of it 35 years later. It's about time we had a good summer.

Re: Which ferry to Dublin?

When I used to travel to Cork I used to get the Fishguard - Rosslare ferry. No better or no worse than the Holyhead - Dun Laoghaire / Dublin ferries.

Ah! That's lost on me (sorry!) as I don't watch much TV. It takes me too long to read all my forums.... I must get a life.

Re: Ladies

I am half female according to my husband!! - A boy in a skirt etc.

I lurk round here but haven't been as committed since the layout changed in the summer and I could not fathom how to upload photos.

Words don't come all that easily so I don't post much.

Monckjochhutte, Switzerland - almost 12,000 feet - assisted by a train but walked across the glacier from Jungfraujoch. Climbed Helvellyn in my student days.

Re: Cycling in Varifocals

[quote="eileithyia"]reading in bed is a bit of a pain (I can no longer snuggle down under the duvet and read lying on my side as I used to, have to sit up more).

I use a cheap, off the peg pair or reading glasses to read in bed and I can snuggle down as much as I like then.

Re: Advice on modern roadsters - Dutchie cycles?

The Dutch Bike Shop in Littlehampton might be worth a try. Their bikes vary from the traditional sit up and beg to 24 gear tourers. I have one of the latter and it is excellent.

Re: How to post a photo on here.

I have to agree with most of the posters on this thread. I have hardly looked at this forum since the changes and I felt most frustrated that, no matter how many attempts I made, I could not upload photographs. It was so much easier prior to the change. I also have not found the things mention by Mi...

Re: Foska, what is the quality like?

Perhaps I saw it advertised on their brochure which I received when my son gave me the A-Z shirt for my birthday. It was also on teh brochure that came with my bones jacket which I was given at Christmas.

Re: Foska, what is the quality like?

I am another Foska fan. I have the London A-Z Cycling shirt and the Bones cycling jacket. They are excellent. The jacket is very warm and needs little underneath it even in winter. My next purchase will be the Wallace and Gromit shirt. On a recent visit to my LBS the young assistants wanted to know ...

Thank you so much for this reply, rbrian. Unfortunately we were burgled in the middle of the night and I have lost my laptop with all my photos. I will try it when I get things sorted out.

I would post a picture of my two dogs and one cat if I could. But the new layout prevets me from doing this.

Re: Posting an image

I have again attempted to upload a photograph from my files and got the message that it is too big. There was no 'inline' option anywhere. I am most disappointed and quite angry that something that used to be so simple has now become an impossibility. Where are there specific instructions that work?...
