Which Rockshox

I picked up a bargain Saracen Ariel 161, but would like a fork with a lock-out for climbing. So I'm thinking of whipping the Lyrik off and flogging it while it's new and switching to something like the Revelation XX.

Does that make sense or am I wasting my money?

Ta,

Re: GPS

If it's more for navigation, then the Edge models are very good. The 500 & 800 are available with some good deals a they're being replaced with newer versions. There's a good deal on the 800 on the same site as I linke to previously.

Re: GPS

I have a Garmin Forerunner 910XT, I bought it for use on my MTB as I didn't feel comfortable mounting a GPS on my handlebars. I use it mainly for speed & heartrate info, but being a bit geeky like the ability to overlap that information and see just where I was working hardest, where exactly I w...

Re: Park Tools & Rust

Thanks for the suggestions, I did apply some GT85 some time back and it has reduced the level of it, I'll have to do this more often I fear. What about the quality of the metal they use? I've destroyed the bottom bracket tool trying to remove a closed cup bottom bracket. It just kept slipping off an...

Re: XC shoes for flat pedals.

Are you riding XC?

I wear a pair of La Sportiva trail running shoes, on some old sunline flats. They work well enough, could do with having a slightly stiffer midsole.

I can't ride SPDs as my knees and ankles aren't in alignment.

Re: Trail / All Mountain Bike

When you say "snob", do you mean it's got to have the right badge, or just good outfitting? Some of the Saracens are good, the Zen won best in class last year and this years version is a 650b. They've take the Kili into the 29er bracket now. This might fit your bill, I know we've got it in...

Re: Sport Pursuit website

It's rubbish, what they do is buy in bulk lines that manufacturers/distributors want to clear and then undercut the real shops that have been stocking the product. The difference is that they only buy in as much as they've sold. It's yet another way of sticking it to real retailers. Hands up, I have...

Re: Sleeping Bag....any ideas

Get a top bag. These only have down in the top half of the bag & a sleeve under the bottom slide something like an Exped Synmat UL into it and you have both comfort and insulation in one compact solution.

Park Tools & Rust

I've been beginning to build up a small workkshop as my bikes grow in numbers. Does anyone else have any experience of Park Tools rusting in a dry but unheated garage space? I'm very disappointed considering what they cost.
