My right thigh/knee has imploded and I simply can't take the pain of pedalling anymore. I'mstruggling to walk. The last 10 ...

Re: Whaley Bridge diversion

So decided to follow the route I made on RWGPS (thanks for all the advice!!). The first thing I'm going to do tomorrow when I get there though is to see if Awkright road is open to see if I can get to New Mills. Had a 115 mile day today. I should do an update but just wanna eat and crash. 120 miles ...

Whaley Bridge diversion

Thought I'd start a new thread. I need to get from Newtown to Buxton avoiding WB for obvious reasons. I've come up with this hilly alternative! Can anyone suggest something better? If you have a RWGPS account and you could map it that would be fantastic! It took me an age just to do this on on my ph...

Re: plumby's JOGLE

Day 3 Left Kinguisse in mist and fog which then literally just disappeared to leave hot sun all day. Shadowed A9 to Pitlochy and Perth through some genuinely stunning countryside. Real contrast as some of the A9 shadow road is like a billiard table then miles of loose stone. Nice 20 mile climb to th...

Re: plumby's JOGLE

No, his name was Noel. Top bloke. After 100 miles the gps still had 3rd of its battery life. Awesome piece of kit. Enjoying food in Evanton currently. My day 6 route takes me through Whaley Bridge. Anyone suggest a detour? Its just before 42 mile marker: https://ridewithgps.com/routes/30372464

Re: plumby's JOGLE

First 10 miles were just effortless. Adrenaline I think. Then a broken spoke 3 miles past Thurso forced me back to Thurso where the guys at 'The Bike Shop' literally stopped what they were doing and sorted it. Real class that. He said I had my marathon pluses over inflated for my body weight (12 sto...

plumby's JOGLE

Well its started. I'm here in JoG, bike built and enjoying a spud with lashings of wifi in the Seaview Hotel. Nothing like solo dining when everyone else is in couples! Bike survived the best efforts of the Royal Mail. Seen probably a dozen end to enders today. Eager for the pedal off tomorrow AM. T...
